Golf Notes 7/8/23 – 13/8/23

Veterans:

Monday the Veterans had 37 players, play a Single Stableford competition.  The winner was D Forsyth ocb from runner up B May & J Yates with 35 pts.  The ball run down continued with R Holland, W Hill, G Parker & A Swift 34 pts followed by M Sim, T Roebig, C Petrohilos & L Blunt with 33 pts.   Pin shots were received by W Maudsley, S Dennis & M Sim while S Kopelke received the ladies.   W Hall received the Encouragement Award.   Monday the 21/8/23 will be the Vets Open Day playing a single stableford competition.  

Ladies:

Wednesday the Ladies were sponsored by Annas Hair & Beauty playing a stableford competition. The winner was J Baulch ocb from runner up H Roebig with 38 pts.   The run down went to J Edwards with 36 pts.   Pin shots were received by H Roebig & T Reid Pocock.  This week will be sponsored by Glens Diner playing a flagged event.  Next week will be sponsored by T Reid Pocock playing a stableford competition.

Sporters:

Wednesday the Sporters had 37 players, for The Wally Woolgar Memorial Trophy, playing a Stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition, sponsored by his family.   The winner was N Hooke with 46 net, runner up was J McGrath ocb from D Beazley & G Parker with 48 net, followed by R Burnett with 49 net    Pin shots were received by G Parker on 13, S Fahey received 17 while R Burnett received 18.  The Dugandan Dice winner was S Fahey with 5 9’s.  This week will be the Glen Sippel Memorial, sponsored by the QFS & mates, playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.  Next week will be the Hal Gwynne Memorial sponsored by G Eviston.

9 Hole Friday Comp:

The winner of our 9 hole comp playing a stableford front 9 competition was D Beazley.   You can play Friday at any time as long as you have someone to mark your card. 

Saturday:   

Saturday was sponsored by The Maynard Family for the Graham Maynard Memorial playing a single stableford/monthly mug competition.  Thanks to Greg & Maureen for your continued support.  The Overall Winner was V Bird with 42 pts.  The Mens Winner was B Lynch with 40 pts, runner up was D Beazley with 39 pts followed by M Gnech & M Herrington 38 pts, W Martin & C Wilson with 37 pts. The Ladies winner was J Briant with 41 pts, runner up was D Wall 37 pts, followed by H Roebig & B Dover with 36 pts.  The run down went to J Handley, K Sawtell, P Taylor, P Dadds, J Egea & C Bell 36 pts followed by J Pfingst, R Eacott, A Gill, D Mabey, T Roebif, P McNiven, A Leary, J Grimsey & C Wheeler with 35 pts.   Pin shots were received by B Lynch on 1/10, P McNiven received 2/11, J Trovatello received 3/12, B Lynch & J Briant recieved 4/13, K Wilson received 5/14, W Maudsley received 6/15 with an Eagle, P McNiven received 7/16, M Llewellyn & D Wall recieved 8/17 while G Eviston received 9/18. The long drives were received by K Milligan & D Mabey.  The best gross for the day was received by J Egea.  This week will be Furniture Court Open Day playing a single stableford competition.  Timesheet for this is almost full.  The next week will be the Boonah Rotary Open Day playing a stableford competition.

Pennants:

The Boonah A Grade Pennant Boys had a loss 3½ to 5½ against Gatton
