Golf Notes 29/8/22 – 4/9/22
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 21 players play a stroke competition. The winner was J Browning with 68 net, runner up was T Richardson ocb from T Russell & R Holland with 70 net. The rundown continued with G Parker 72 net, followed by D Forsyth 73 net and S Kopelke, J Gurney & G Philp with 74 net. Pin shots were received by S Kopelke R Humphrey & J Gurney while S Kopelke received the ladies. The Encouragement Award went to T Roebig while the members draw was won by J Gurney. Next week will be a single stableford competition.
Wednesday:
Wednesday the ladies played a stableford competition for Annette Geiger Memorial, sponsored by Elite Meats. The winner was T Reid Pocock with 32 pts, runner up A Tomlinson with 30 pts. This week will be a single stroke/monthly medal competition sponsored by Scenic Rim Trophies. Next week will be a stableford competition and will be the next round of the Consistency Cup.
Ladies Open Day:
The Ladies held their annual Open Day on Thursday. They had 42 players come from Ipswich, Toowoomba City, Stanthorpe, Tallebudgera, Rosewood, Burleigh, Royal Queensland, Gatton, Laidly, McLeod, Wynnum, Beaudesert, Redland Bay, Chinchilla, Lowood, Pacific and Caloundra. The Overall winner was a local S Reid with 38 pts. The Division 1 was won by E Meagher with 34 pts, runner up A Brown with 33 pts. Division 2 winner was V Bird with 37 pts, runner up was L Edwards with 36 pts. Division 3 winner was L Reinholdsson with 32 pts, runner up L Didsman with 31 pts ocb. Pin shots were won by E Meagher, J Sparks & L Brown while the Accurate Drives were received by G Bartholomew, V Bird & T Reid Pocock.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters played a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition, sponsored by S Bennett from Boonah Business Supplies. The winner was B Brown with 26 pts, runner up was B Sampson ocb from G Parker with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by M Gray on 13, B Beasley received 17 while W Maudsley received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was W Maudsley. This week will be sponsored by D Creighton from the Fassifern Guardian playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition sponsored by J Handley.
Saturday:
Saturday was the Graham Maynard Memorial playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition, kindly sponsored by Maureen & Greg. Thanks for the continued support. The winner was J Miles with 66 net, runner up was J Browning with 69 net. The run down went to B Gotke & B Beasley 71 net, C Bell & K Milligan 73 net, followed by K Sawtell & A Lutter 74 net, I Pocock 75 net and G Grimsey & C Wilson 76 net. The Ladies winner was K Turner ocb from runner up J Wilson with 74 net, followed by Z Eviston with 75 net. Pin shots were received by J Wilson & W Maudsley on 4/13, S Bailey & J Wilson received 8/17 while J Gurney received 9/18. This week will be the Suicide Prevention and Awareness Open Day playing a 4 Ball Ambrose competition, with a 12.30 shot gun start. Next week will be the Glenn Sippel Memorial playing a single stableford/monthly mug competition.
Sunday:
Sunday we have a social club teeing off at 7 am using all the buggies. The Greg Newmann Memorial will then tee off at 1 pm. Please ring the club to make a booking or for any further details. Or you can book on line through our website.
