Golf Notes 22/8/22 – 28/8/22
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 62 players play a stableford competition for their Open Day. The winner was W Lovett with 42 pts, runner up was R Lawrie ocb from L Blunt with 41 pts. The rundown continued with J Gurney 40 pts, A Stick 39 pts, G Hunt & L Bryant 38 pts followed by S Dennis, W Delaney & T Richardson with 36 pts, A Maugeri, S Edwards & A McNeill with 35 pts. The Ladies winner was E Meagher with 38 pts, runner up was M Maynard with 36 pts. The ball run down went to A Brown & K Cook 35 pts and L Edwards 33 pts. Pin shots were received by L Blunt, T Norris & G Sharpe while G Bartholomew & J Tonges received the ladies. The Accurate Drives were recieved by S Dennis & M Maynard. The Encouragement Award went to N Zagami while the members draw jackpotted. Next week will be a single stableford competition.
Wednesday:
Wednesday the ladies played a stableford competition for B Dovers’ trophy. The winner was L Edwards with 34 pts, runner up L Reinholdsson with 33 pts. Next week will be a single stroke/monthly medal competition sponsored by Scenic Rim Trophies.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters played the Hal Gwynne Memorial playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competiton, sponsored by G Eviston. The winner was T Henderson with 30 pts, runner up was A Stick ocb from W Lovett with 28 pts. The ball run down continued with L Vandenbrink 27 pts, D Forsyth 26 pts followed by G Searle 25 pts and T Roebig with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by P Rabbit on 8 while R Stinson received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was G Lutter in a toss off. This week will be sponsored by S Bennett from Boonah Business Supplies playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week will be sponsored by D Creighton from the Fassifern Guardian playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday was the Boonah Rotary Club Open Day playing a single stableford competition. The Overall winner was J Grimsey ocb with 41 pts. The A Grade winner was J Gurney with 37 pts, runner up was A Heit with 36 pts followed by B Beasley 35 pts, T Alchin & B Lawrance with 34 pts. B Grade winner was R Humphrey ocb from runner up G Parker with 37 pts, followed by P Rogers, H Perrem & W Hill with 35 pts. C Grade winner was C Shannon ocb from runner up B Brown with 36 pts, followed by R Eacott & I Pocock 34 pts and S Edwards with 31 pts. The Ladies winner was Z Eviston with 41 pts, runner up K Turner with 34 pts followed by T Reid Pocock, A Brown & A Leary with 33 pts. The Social winner was J Hertweck. Pin shots were received by R Maudsley on 1/10, A Heit received 2, K Turner & I Pocock received 3/12 & 3, G Maynard & A Leary received 4/13, M Wyvill received 5/14, S Reid received 6/15, G Maynard & T Reid Pocock received 8/17 while C Shannon received 9/18. This week will be the Graham Maynard Memorial playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition. This will be the next round of the Bi Rite Challenge. Next week will be the Suicide Prevention and Awareness Open Day playing a 4 Ball Ambrose competition, with a 12.30 shot gun start.
Sunday:
