Golf Notes 13/3/23 – 19/3/23
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 21 players play a stableford competition. The winner was G Hunt with 36 pts, runner up was R Stinson with 35 pts, followed by J Gurney 34 pts, C Petroholis 32 pts and T Norris 31 pts. Pin shots were received by G Hunt, C Petroholis & T Russell. The Encouragement Award was received by B Halls while the membership draw jackpotted. Next Monday will be a stableford competition
Ladies:
Wednesday the Ladies played a single stableford competition, sponsored by Helen Roebig. The winner was A Brown with 28 pts, runner up B Dover with 27 pts. The Pin shot was received by L Reinholdsson. This week will be a stableford competition, sponsored by Kris Cook.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters was sponsored by R Fitzgerald playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. The winner was W Wieland with 28 pts, runner up was R Stinson ocb from W Maudsley with 27 pts. The ball run down continued with G Eviston, B Sampson & T Roebig with 25 pts followed by G Benstead with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by L Blunt on 4, J Gurney received 8 while G Benstead received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was R Freeman with 4 Aces. This week the Sporters will be sponsored by D Forsyth playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week the Sporters will be sponsored by B & J Gnech from Mechanics in Boonah playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday was the 3rd round of our Championships. This was The Captains trophy. The winner was A Parker with 67 net, runner up was G Maynard with 68 net. The ladies winner was D Wall with 70 net, runner up S McKenzie with 71 net. The ball run down went to S Lutter & G Philp 69 net, G Grimsey 70 net, followed by G Eviston, G Clark, C Wilson, L Blunt & N Stansfield 71 net and T Britton, B Gotke, M Titcomb, T Roebig, G Parker & R Higgs 72 net. Pin shots were received by W Maudsley & S McKenzie on 4/13, M Herrington & S McKenzie received 8/17 while W Maudsley received 9/18. This week will be sponsored by Drummond Golf Burleigh playing a stableford competition. This will be the start of the Bi Rite Challenge. Next week will be sponsored by Battery World Ipswich playing a stableford competition.
Sunday:
Sunday we played the final round of the Championships sponsored by our Patrons. The winner was M Titcomb with 65 net, runner up was B Beasley with 68 net. The ladies winner was J Wilson with 67 net, runner up was S McKenzie with 69 net. The ball rundown went to M Gnech 68 net, G Parker, B Davey, B Lynch & A Heit 70 net followed by B Williams & G Philp 72 net and A Bennett, G Martin, T Reid Pocock, D Wall & G Grimsey 73 net.
