Golf Notes 1/8/22 – 7/8/22
Veterans:
The Veterans played a stableford competition on Monday. The winner was G Sharpe ocb from runner up S Dennis with 40 pts. The rundown went to K Cook 39 pts, R Holland & T Norris 38 pts, B Murphy & R Stinson 36 pts followed by N Casey, A Lane, A Stick & G Hunt with 35 pts. D Gittins had an Eagle on the 12th. Pin shots were received by J Gurney & G Sharpe while K Cook & E Meagher received the ladies. M Panzram received by Encouragement Award while the members draw jackpotted.
Ladies:
This week the ladies played a single stroke/monthly medal competition sponsored by Scenic Rim Trophies. The winner was B Dover with 65 net, runner up was L Reinholdsson with 71 net ocb from A Brown.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters were sponsored by M Gray, R Holland & BMK Kalbar playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was T Russell with 28 pts, runner up was L Blunt ocb from G Hunt with 26 pts. The ball run down continued with G Parker & M O’Reilly 25 pts and T Roebig & G Eviston with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by W Maudsley on 13, G Hunt received 17 while T Russell received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was R Holland in a toss off. This week will be the Wally Woolgar Trophy sponsored by his family, playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be the Glenn Sippel Memorial sponsored by the QFS mates, playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday we played day 1 of the Darvall Cup kindly sponsored by D Forsyth, M O’Reilly & J Gillett playing a stroke/monthly medal competition, this was be the next round of the Bi Rite Challenge. The winner was G Hunt with 70 net, runner up W Hill with 71 net followed by B Brown & G Martin 72 net and P Gerhardt ocb with 73 net. The ladies winner was Z Eviston with 71 net, runner up T Reid Pocock 75 net. The ball run down went to J Grimsey 73 net, J Cochrane & J Browning 73 net, followed by J Gurney, A Parker, B Philp & S Francis 74 net and B Lawrance, A Bennett, R Humphrey & T Britton with 75 net. Pin shots were received by J Browning & A Leary on 4/13, B Freiberg & A Brown received 8/17 while B Freiberg received 9/18 also. The Mens 3rd shot on 6/15 was won by A Heit while the Ladies 3rd shot on 2/11 was won by D Wall. This week end will be the final round of the Championships sponsored by B G & C Philp playing a stroke competition. Next week will be sponsored by Boonah Furniture Court playing a single stableford/monthly mug competition.
Sunday:
Sunday we played day 2 of the Darvall Cup, sponsored by Drummond Golf West Burleigh. The winner was S Francis with 70 net, runner up was J Browning with 71 net ocb from A Heit. The ladies winner was A Brown with 74 net, runner up was S Reid with 75 net. The ball rundown continued with P Gerhardt 72 net, B Lawrance & G Parker 73 net followed by J Lynch 74 net and A Lutter with 75 net. Pin shots were received by J Lynch & Z Eviston on 4/13, N Pellin & K Turner received 8/17 while B Lawrance received 9/18. The ladies third shot on 2/11 was received by Z Eviston while the mens third shot on 6/15 was received by J Browning. No Mens winner of the Darvall Cup as yet as there will be a play off between S Francis & J Browning, however the ladies winner of the Darvall Cup was A Brown.
