Golf Notes 6/3/23 – 12/3/253
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 70 players play stableford competition. This was the Scenic Rim Day. The winner was M Lynch with 50 pts, runner up was M Gray with 39 pts, followed by P Peck with 36 pts. The Ladies winner was A Brown ocb from D Kuhnemann with 34 pts, followed by K Turner with 31 pts. Pin shots were received by D Webb, T Norris and B Parker while K Turner & A Brown received the Ladies. Next Monday will be a stableford competition
Ladies:
Wednesday the Ladies played a single stableford competition, sponsored by Annas’ Hair & Beauty. The winner was A Brown ocb from runner up B Dover with 31 pts. The Pin shot was received by A Brown. This week will be a stableford competition.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters was sponsored by W Gnech playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was K Rhodes with 45 net, runner up was A Stick ocb from M O’Reilly, R Maudsley & T Henderson with 46 net. The ball run down continued with L Vandenbrink 47 net, R Eacott & W Gnech 48 net and G Searle with 49 net. Pin shots were received by B Sampson on 13, G Searle received 17 while J Gurney received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was M O’Reilly with 5 10’s. This week the Sporters will be sponsored by R Fitzgerald playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week the Sporters will be sponsored by D Forsyth playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday was the 1st round of our Championships. This was The Presidents trophy. The winner was I Pocock with 65 net, runner up was C Bell with 67 net. The ladies winner was H Roebig with 68 net, runner up S McKenzie with 70 net. The ball run down went to S Lutter, P Gerhardt & G Parker 68 net, A Gill 69 net, followed by S Reid 70 net, T Britton, D Ryan & J Wilson 71 net and A Heit & J Miles with 72 net. Pin shots were received by P Gerhardt & S Grace on 4/13, K Wilson & A Leary received 8/17 while B Williams received 9/18. This week end is the 3rd & final round of the Championships. Next week will be sponsored by Drummond Golf Burleigh playing a stableford competition.
Sunday:
Sunday we played the 2nd round of the Championships sponsored by our Vice President & L Reinholdsson. The winner was K Wilson with 69 net, runner up was M Herrington with 71 net. The ladies winners was A Leary with 71 net, runner up was S Reid ocb from A Brown with 75 net. The ball rundown went to W Maudsley, R Higgs, D Ryan, B Lynch 72 net, followed by G Clark, W Martin & S Bennett 73 net and A Bennett, C Wilson, G Parker, D Beazley, C Perrem, L Blunt & S Lutter with 74 net.
The best 4 in A Grade are W Maudsley 147, A Gill 149, K Wilson 154 and P Gerhardt 155. B Grade are S Lutter 161, G Maynard 170, M Herrington 173 & B Lynch 174. C Grade are D Ryan 187, D Gittins 190, J Miles 191 & G Grimsey 193. The best 3 for the ladies in each grade are: A Grade S Reid & A Brown 181 and S McKenzie 183. B Grade are A Leary 185, J Wilson 193 & K Turner 200. C Grade are H Roebig 217, T Reid Pocock 230 and N Stanfield 246.
This week-end we are playing the 3rd and final round of the Championships no Social play will be available until after the last group have completed first 9 holes of competition.
