Golf Notes 2/10/23 – 8/10/23
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 26 players, play a single Stableford competition. The winner was R Freeman with 42 pts, runner up was B Sampson with 41 pts. The ball run down went to W Lovett, R Lawrie, R Holland & D Stanfield 37 pts, followed by A Swift & W Hill 36 pts and C Petrohilos 35 pts. Pin shots were received L Blunt, M Gray & B May while E Meagher, J Baulch & K Cook received the ladies. The Encouragement Award was awarded to N Halls. Next week will be a single stableford competition.
Ladies:
This week was sponsored by Scenic Rim Trophies playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition. The winner was H Roebig ocb from runner up B Dover with 74 net. H Roebig received 8/17 pin shot. This week will be a stableford competition sponsored by Anna’s Hair & Beauty. This will be the 8th round of the Consistency Cup.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters were sponsored by W Hall & B Sampson, playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was G Benstead with 29 pts, runner up was R Freeman with 28 pts. The rundown went to G Eviston & R Holland 27 pts, followed by W Hall & J McGrath 26 pts and C Shannon 25 pts. Pin shots were received by T Russell on 13, W Lovett received 17, while A Skinner received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was T Henderson with 5 Queens. This week will be sponsored by Boonah Jewellery & Gifts playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be Pub Day playing a back nine 9 hole competition.

Saturday:
Saturday we played the 1st round of the Darvall Cup sponsored by Glen Christie from Drummond Gold West Burleigh. The Overall Winner was J McGrath with 68 net ocb. The Mens Winner was S Francis with 68 net. The Ladies winner was J Briant with 69 net. The run down went to B May, S Lutter & G Clark 69 net, D Ryan, D Forsyth & R Humphrey 70 net, followed by A Moore, T Roebig, C Jorgensen, S Fahey & M Wyvill 72 net and M Herrington, C Wilson, C Shannon, J Grimsey, P Jackwitz, P Gerhardt, J Trovatello & G Yeomans 73 net. Pin shots were received by M Wyvill & K Turner on 4/13, P Gerhardt & A Brown received 8/17 while S Fahey & N Stanfield received 9/18. This week will be The Fassifern Old Boys Rugby League Open Day, playing a stableford competition. Next week will be a 4 Ball Ambrose Competition sponsored by Tony Holland Funerals.
Sunday:

The Ladies Winner was J Briant with 72 net. The rundown went to J Miles 71 net, G Clark, S Lutter & G Grimsey 72 net followed by P Gerhardt, G Hunt, C Jorgensen, M Herrington, I Pocock, N Stanfield & A Brown with 73 net. Pin shots were received by I Pocock & B Dover on 4/13, J Gurney & A Brown on 8/17 and G Hunt & A Leary on 9/18. The Darvall Cup sponsored by Richard & Julie Darvall. We thank them for the continued support of this competition. The ladies winner of the Darvall Cup was J Briant. Congratulations. The Mens winner will be determined with a play off between G Clark & S Lutter this Saturday.
