Golf Notes 8/1/23 – 14/1/23


Monday the Veterans kicked off their year with a stableford competition with 44 players.  The winner was W Maudsley with 36 pts, runner up was M Gray with 35 pts ocb.  The ball run down went to G Hunt, C Petroholis & K Rhodes with 35 pts, followed by B Brown, R Freeman & G Sharpe 34 pts and W Hill, K Turner, T Roebig & T Russell with 33 pts.  Pin shots were received by R Stinson, B May & K Rhodes while A Lauchlan & K Turner received the ladies.  The Encouragement was awarded to J More.  Next week will be a stroke competition.


Wednesday the Sporters returned playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition kindly sponsored by B Davey & R Stinson.  The winner was B Sampson with 29 pts, runner up was D Beazley ocb from C Farnan & J Strutt with 27 pts.  The run down continued with M O’Reilly 26 pts, followed by R Freeman & D Forsyth with 25 pts and M Titcomb & B Beasley 24 pts.  Pin shots were received by B Beasley, C Farnan & J McGrath.  The Dugandan Dice winner was K Rhodes in a toss off with 4 Aces.  This week will be the John Maynard Memorial playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.  Next week will be sponsored by R Scells playing the John Allen Memorial playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.


Saturday we played a single stroke/monthly medal competition, sponsored by Boonah B P (R & W Maudsley).  Thanks for your continued support.  The A Grade winner was S Lutter with 70 net, runner up was R Higgs with 71 net.  B Grade winner was G Philp with 70 net, runner up was M Gnech with 73 net.  C Grade winner & Monthly Medal winner was B Williams with 68 net, runner up J Wyvill with 71 net. The Ladies winner was N Stanfield with 68 net, runner up was H Roebig with 71 net.  The run down went to S Fahey 71 net, T Gnech, T Roebig & M Wyvill 72 net, followed by W Martin, J Gurney, K Turner & D Ryan with 73 net.  This week will be sponsored by Carlton & United Breweries playing a single stableford/monthly mug competition. Next week will be sponsored by the Guardian playing a single stableford competition.


Sunday we have 2 small Social Clubs using some of the buggies.  Social Play will be available when they have completed their rounds if requiring a buggy.
