Golf Notes 21/8/23 – 27/8/23
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 72 players play a Stableford competition, for their Open Day. The winner was D Beazley with 43pts, runner up was R Burnett with 42 pts. The ball run down went to T Russell 40 pts, P De Bues 38 pts, followed by G Hunt, L Blunt, J Barnes & R Stinson 37 pts and J Browning, W Lovett & J Estbergs with 36 pts. The Ladies winner was E Meagher ocb from runner up J Tonges with 37 pts. The ball run down went to M Smith 33 pts, followed by J Antcliff & G Bartholomew with 31 pts. Pin shots were received R Burnett x2, B Bartle, G Hunt, G Parker & T Russell while G Bartholomew, J Tonges & J Antcliff received the ladies. The Encouragement Award was awarded to B Arnesen. Monday the 4th will be a 4BBB stableford competition.
Ladies:
This week was sponsored by T Reid Pocock playing a stableford competition. The winner was J Baulch ocb from runner up B Dover with 34 pts. A Brown received a ball in the rundown. Pin shots went to A Brown & B Dover. This week will be sponsored by Elite Meats for the Annette Geiger Memorial, playing a stableford competition. Next week will be sponsored by Scenic Rim Trophies playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters had 34 players, play the Hal Gwynne Memorial, sponsored by G Eviston. The winner was R Stinson with 30 pts, runner up B Brown ocb from G Eviston, L Blunt & D Stanfield with 27 pts. The rundown continued with T Henderson, C Shannon & T Roebig with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by S Fahey on 13, M Wyvill received 17 while C Shannon received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was L Van Den Brink. This week will be sponsored by S Bennet from Boonah Business Supplies playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be sponsored by Fassifern Guardian playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday we played The Boonah Rotary Club Open Day. Thanks to Arthur along with all the Rotarians who make this day possible. Boonah Rotary Club will be receiving over $600 for the day from the Boonah Golf club. The Overall winner was Z Eviston ocb with 41 pts. The A Grade winner was M Penn ocb from runner up J Browning with 39 pts, followed by B Lynch & G Hunt 38 pts and S Fahey 37 pts. B Grade winner was G Philp with 41 pts, runner up G Benstead with 39 pts, followed by M Titcomb, W Martin & J Lynch with 38pts. C Grade winner was P Dadds with 39 pts, runner up was G Lutter ocb from J Yates & A Hertweck 38 pts, followed by C Shannon 37 pts. The Ladies winner was A Leary with 39 pts, runner up was B Dover with 38 pts, followed by E Meagher ocb with 35 pts. The Social Winner was I Browning. The run down went to G Maynard 37 pts, G Eviston, D Beazley & W Hall 36 pts, followed by J Gurney, L Blunt, R Eacott, J Trovatello, M Weber, R Humphrey & J Pfingst 35 pts. Pin shots were on all holes and received by G Benstead on 1/10, 2/11 was received by W Gnech, J Miles & D Wall received 3/12, S Fahey & B Dover received 4/13, W Maudsley received 5/14, Z Eviston received 6/15, J Miles received 7/16, T Gnech & B Dover received 8/17 while C Shannon received 9/18.
