Golf Notes 26/8/24 – 1/9/24
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 33 players, play a single stableford competition. The winner was G Sharpe with 40 pts, runner up was R Burnett with 39 pts. The ball run down went to D Mortimer 39 pts, S Edwards 38 pts, L Blunt 37 pts, followed by G Hunt, J Gurney & K Eugarde 36 pts and B Brown, D Wall, D Stanfield, D Bass, K Turner & J Browning 35 pts. Pin shots were received by D Mortimer & G Hunt while the ladies were received by K Turner. No Veterans in Boonah next week you will be playing at Gailes.
Ladies:
Wednesday the Ladies were sponsored by Sandie Lees’ Café & Glens Diner playing a single stableford competition. This was the Annette Geiger Memorial. The winner was H Roebig with 37 pts, runner up was B Dover with 36 pts. The run down went to K Cook & N Stanfield with 31 pts. The Pin Shot was received by J Dover. This week will be a monthly medal, playing a single stroke competition for a club trophy. Next week will a stableford competition for the next round of the Consistency Cup. This week the Ladies will be teeing off at 8 am.
Sporters:
The Sporters were sponsored by G Eviston for the H Gwynne Memorial, playing a 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was W Hall with 30 pts, runner up was J Handley with 29 pts. The run down went to S Edwards 27 pts, M O’Reilly 26 pts followed by B Shaw 25 pts and J Trovatello & R Cuneo with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by G Eviston on 13, B Shaw received 17 while S Fahey received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was C Shannon with 5 Aces in a toss off. This week will be sponsored by S Bennett from Boonah Business Supplies, playing as single stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be sponsored by T Roebig from Vanberry Cottage playing a single stableford 10 – 18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.

Saturday, we played The Graham Maynard Memorial, sponsored by his family, playing a single stableford competition. The Mens A Grade winner was P Gerhardt with 41 pts, runner up was L Maloney ocb from G Eviston & J Gurney with 38 pts. B Grade winner was K Ward with 39 pts, runner up was J Sanderson with 38 pts, followed by R Cuneo & W Hill with 37 pts. C Grade winner was H Marshall with 41 pts, runner up was K Brown ocb from B Brown with 35 pts followed by D Stanfield with 33 pts. The Ladies winner was N Stanfield ocb from runner up was S Reid with 38 pts, followed by T Reid Pocock 37 pts & V Bird 36 pts ocb. Pin shots were received by S Bennett on 1/10, D Bass received 2/11, K Brown received 3/12, L Edwards & G Parker received 4/13, B Lynch was the lucky player to received 5/14, T Roebig received 6/15, J McGrath received 7/16, G Maynard & N Stanfield received 8/17 while J Wilson received 9/18. Only a small opportunity for social golf next week. We have a small Social club teeing off at 8. Then in the afternoon we have the Greg Newman Memorial using all the buggies.
