Golf Notes 12/8/24 – 18/8/24
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 19 players, play a single stroke competition. The winner was W Lovett with 69 net, runner up was P Peck with 71 net ocb. The ball run down went to J Gurney & D Beazley 71 net, followed by R Freeman, S Edwards & D Wall with 72 net. Pin shots were received by R Humphrey, D Beazley & J Gurney while the ladies were received by K Turner & D Wall. Next week will be a single stableford competition.
Ladies:
No Ladies last week due to the course being closed for buggies. This week will be a 4BBB stableford competition, sponsored by J Baulch. Next week will be sponsored by Sandie Lees’ Café & Glens Diner playing a single stableford competition. This will be the Annette Geiger Memorial.
Sporters:
No Sporters this week due to the course being closed to buggies. This week will be the Glenn Sippel Memorial sponsored by his QFS mates and D Forsyth & B Brown, playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be sponsored by G Eviston for the H Gwynne Memorial, playing a 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday we played a 4 Ball Ambrose competition, kindly sponsored by H2O & Gas Services. The winners were S Grace, W Maudsley, J Sanderson & W Gnech with 56.25, runners up were G & T Eviston, B Williams & A Gill with 56.625 followed by J & D Gurney, J Browning & B May with 57.5. Pin shots were received by S Edwards & A Shaw on 4/13, B Beasley & K Turner received 8/17 while P Gerhardt received 9/18. The Long Drives were won by A Leary & A Gill. The run down went to 68 net. This week will be The Boonah Rotary Club Open Day playing a single stableford competition. Next week will be The Graham Maynard Memorial, sponsored by his family, playing a single stableford competition.
Sunday Pennants:
Today the Pennants started with our A Grade side going down to Sandy Gallop 5/4 while B Grade also went down to Toogoolawah 4/3.
Sunday:
This week we have a small Social Club, using some of the buggies. Social Play will be available to those walking or with their own buggy. There may be a limited number of available in the morning with the rest available after the social club have completed their round. Call the club house to book your buggy to avoid disappointment.
