Golf Notes 4/9/23 – 10/9/23

Veterans:

Monday the Veterans had 27 players, play a 4BBB Stableford competition.  The winners were W Hill & R Humphrey with 44pts, runners up was G Parker & T Roebig with 42 pts. The ball run down went to B Philp & W Hill 41 pts, B Sampson & J Trovatello 40 pts, followed by R Stinson & R Lawrie, M Gray & R Holland and D Forsyth & G Philp 39 pts.   Pin shots were received R Burnett, T Henderson & J Gurney while K Cook received the ladies.  The Encouragement Award was awarded to K Cook & J Edwards, while the members draw jackpotted.    

Ladies:

This week was sponsored by Scenic Rim Trophies playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition.  The winner was B Dover with 75 net, runner up J Baulch with 77 net. This week will be sponsored by Annas Hair & Beauty playing a single stableford.  This will be the next round of the Consistency Cup.  Next week will be a stableford competition for a club trophy.

Sporters:

Wednesday the Sporters were sponsored by Mechanics in Boonah (Brad & Jodie Gnech) playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.    The winner was G Searle ocb from runner up J Strutt, G Lutter & B Sampson with 46 net.  The rundown continued with R Maudsley 47 net, J McGrath 48 net, followed by L Blunt, J Gurney, R Cuneo, M O’Reilly & J Handley with 49 net.  The best gross for the day were J Gurney & R Cuneo with 57 off the stick.   Pin shots were received by G Lutter on 13, B Beasley received 18 while A Skinner received 18.  The Dugandan Dice winner was S Edwards with 5 Nines.  This week will be sponsored by T & H Roebig from Vanbery Cottage playing a single stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.  Next week will be sponsored by Boonah Eyecare playing a stableford 1-9 + 10-14 & 15 competition.

Friday: 

The winner of the Friday competition was B Dover with 23 pts.  Next week will be a stableford back 9 competition.

Saturday:   

Saturday we played The Fassifern Suicide Prevention Open Day playing a 4 ball Ambrose competition. Thanks to all who organized the day.  The winners were J Miles, C Bell, K Milligan & A Moore with 57¾, runners up were W Maudsley, W Gnech, P McNiven & S Grace with 56 net, followed by G Eviston, P Eggenhuizen, G Benstead & A Heit with 56¾.  The run down went to J Engler, C Gatehouse, C Wheeler & B Lynch 57¼, C Perrem, G Grimsey, A Parker & A Gill 57¾, followed by R Lawrie, G Hunt, D Wagener & A Witney and A Tomlinson, K C & J Wilson 58 net and P Gerhardt, W Martin, P Dadds & R Higgs 56½.  Pin shots were received by K Milligan & N Stanfield on 4/13, C Farnan & A Tomlinson received 8/17 while G Hunt received 9/18.  This week will be the Glen Sippel Memorial playing a single stableford/monthly mug competition.  Next week will be sponsored by Bendigo Bank playing a stroke competition.

Pennants:

Our Pennant A Grade side was defeated 8/1 while our B Grade side also suffered a loss 3.5 to 1.5.
