Golf Notes 3/7/23 – 9/7/23
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 40 players play a Single Stableford competition. The winner was A Swift ocb from runner up E Meagher with 39 pts. The ball run down went to W Lovett 38 pts, D Garbutt 37 pts, B Brown, L Edwards & C Petrohilos 36 pts followed by A McNeill, S Edwards, D Forsyth & W Hall 34 pts. Pin shot were received by G Parker, C Petrohilos & B May while E Meagher & A Brown received the ladies. B Hall received the Encouragement Award. Monday the 17th will be the 2nd round of our Championships playing a single stroke competition.
Ladies:
Last week was sponsored by Scenic Rim Trophies playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition. The winner was B Dover with 73 net, runner up was S Grace with 76 net. This week will be sponsored by Annas Hair & Beauty playing a single stableford competition. This will be the 5th round of the Consistency Cup. Next week will be sponsored by L Reinholdsson playing a stableford competition.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters were sponsored by R & W Maudsley from BP Boonah playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. The winner was W Wieland with 25 pts, runner up was M Gray ocb from M Weber & G Parker with 22 pts Pin shots were received by L Blunt on 4, R Stinson received 8 while A Skinner received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was T Roebig with 5 Aces. This week will be sponsored by FIS Insurance Brokers playing a 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 2 ball Ambrose competition. Next week will be sponsored by The Butcher Co playing a single stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday was sponsored by Dover & Sons for the Noel Dover Memorial playing a single stableford competition. The winner was L Beasley with 46 pts, runner up was G Martin with 43 pts, followed by G Maynard & P McNiven with 40 pts. The ladies winner was Z Eviston with 39 pts, runner up was V Bird with 36 pts followed by E Meagher with 35 pts. The ball rundown went to W Gnech & G Benstead with 39 pts, W Martin, M O’Reilly, P Gerhardt & J Grimsey with 36 pts followed by J Trovatello, G Parker, C Shannon & B Perrem 35 pts. Pin shots were received by M Gnech & D Wall on 4/13, G Maynard & A Leary received 8/17 while P McNiven & A Leary received 9/18.
