Golf Notes 16/9/24 – 22/9/24
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 43 players, play a stableford competition. The winner was W Delaney with 39 pts, runner up W Lovett ocb from T Henderson with 38 pts. The ball run down continued with B Brown 37 pts, B May & T Norris 36 pts followed by D Bass, R Humphrey & T Roebig with 35 pts. Pin shots were received by G Philp & D Stanfield while D Wall & E Meagher received the ladies. Monday the 23rd the course is closed for renovations. Next week will be a stroke competition.
Ladies:
The Ladies played their Open Day on Thursday with players coming from Chinchilla, Oxley, Wolston Park, Rosewood, Southport, Caboolture, Sanctuary Cove, McLeod, Ipswich, Warwick, Laidley, Bell District, Beaudesert, Wynnum, Royal Sydney, Tallebudgera, Gailes, Carbrook, Bulima, Keperra, Howling Country as well as Boonah. The Overall Winner was A Tomlinson with 45 pts. The A Grade winner was B Lance with 39 pts, runner up was S Reid with 37 pts. B Grade winner was T Reid Pocock ocb from runner up S Hollindale with 38 pts. C Grade winner was K Foote with 40 pts, runner up was C Kitson with 39 pts. Pin shots were received by B Dansey, R McConchies & S Savery. The Mystery Drive was won by M Bazley. The Accurate Drives were received by E Meagher, J Watson & J Gray. This week will be sponsored by K Cook playing a stableford competition. Next week will be Monthly Medal competition for a club trophy.
Sporters:
The Sporters had 33 players, play a single stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition, kindly sponsored by Boonah Eyecare. The winner was S Lutter ocb from runner up G Searle with 29 pts. The run down went to R Cuneo & R Stinson 28 pts, R Maudsley, W Lovett & C Farnan 27 pts, followed by S Edwards, N Hooke, M Weber, S Fahey, G Parker & T Henderson 26 pts and D Forsyth 24 pts. Pin shots were received by T Henderson on 4, D Stanfield received 8 while S Fahey received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was S Edwards with 5 Nines. Saturday:
Saturday we played the Glen Sippel Memorial playing a single stableford/monthly mug competition. Thanks to Juleen & Family for your support. The mens winner was J Schumacher with 43 pts, runner up D Tomlinson 41 pts, followed by B Shaw 40 pts and B Brown 39 pts ocb. The ladies winner was B Dover with 40 pts, runner up was L Edwards with 38 pts. The run down went to J West 39 pts, G Eviston, P McNiven, G Hunt & D Bass 38 pts, K Sawtell, D Green, M Wyvill with and Eagle on the 3rd hole, R Burnett, C Frank, W Lovett, G Grimsey, J Wilson, J Briant, J Sanderson & D Stanfield 37 pts followed by S Bennett P Gerhardt, D Forsyth, C Wilson, L Blunt, M Cavanagh & S Fahey with 36 pts. The putting competition was won by G Eviston with 23 putts. Pin shots were received by E Meagher & W Martin on 4/13, J Wilson & R Burnett received 8/17 while K Turner & J Schumacher received 9/18. Pennants:
This week we had both divisions 1 & 2 playing Pennants. Division 1 played Laidley at Brisbane River and lost 5 – 4. Division 2 played Esk at Toogoolawah and won 5 – 2.
Sunday:
No Social Club this week. Social play will be available. The club house will be open at 7 am if wanting a buggy. Please ring the club to book ahead to make sure one is available to avoid disappointment, as the bookings are filling fast already.
