Golf Notes 6/11-/23 – 12/11/23
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 27 players, play a stableford competition. The winner was B May ocb from runner up B Sampson and D Beazley with 39 pts. The ball run down continued with J Browning 38 pts, B Brown 37 pts followed by T Roebig 36 pts and R Burnett with 34 pts. Pin shots were received B May, J Browning & G Parker. The Encouragement Award was awarded to D Gurney. Next week will be a single stableford competition.
Ladies:
This week the ladies had 7 players play a stableford competition, kindly sponsored by Sandy Lees Cafe. The winner was J Baulch with 42 pts, runner up was D Marshall with 34 pts. D Marshall won the pin shot while A Brown was in the run down. This week will be a single stableford competition.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters were sponsored by Dover & Sons, playing a single stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition, for the 1st round of their Championships. The winner was R Burnett with 44 net, runner up was G Parker ocb from G Eviston with 46 net. The rundown continued with B Beasley, L Blunt & T Roebig with 47 net, followed by N Hooke & P Eggenhuizen 48 net and W Lovett, C Shannon & R Eacott 49 net. Pin shots were received by T Roebig on 4, A Skinner received 8 while S Fahey received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was W Lovett with 5 Aces. This week will be the final round of the Championships, kindly sponsored by Dover & Sons, playing a single stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. W Gnech sponsors the best gross for the championships. Next week will be sponsosred by K Rhodes playing a single stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 + 15 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday was sponsored by FIS Insurance playing a single stableford competition. The Overall winner was S Bennett with 42 pts. The Mens winner was B Elliott ocb from runner up L Harm & J Grimsey with 40 pts, followed by J Browning, J Miles & C Perrem with 39 pts. The Ladies winner was J Briant with 38 pts, runner up was S Reid ocb from S Grace with 37 pts, followed by V Bird, J Pfingst & K Turner with 34 pts ocb. The rundown went to W Maudsley 38 pts, P McNiven, J Egea, M Herrington, K Proctor & D Mortimer with 37 pts, followed by K Wilson, G Parker 36 pts, J Jorgensen, R Eacott, D Forsyth, M Titcomb 35 pts and A Bennett, B Beasley, J McGrath, P Gerhardt, S Lutter, S Fahey, T Roebig & S McKenzie with 34 pts. Pin shots were received by B Beasley & J Briant on 4/13, C Shannon & Z Eviston received 8/17 while A Hunt & S McKenzie received 9/18. This week will be sponsored Oppy’s Fruit & Veg playing a single stableford/monthly mug competition. This will be the last round of the Bi Rite Challenge. Next week will be The Boonah Lions Open Day playing a 2 ball Ambrose competiton with a 12.30 shot gun start.
