Veterans
Monday the Veterans played a stableford competition. The winner was A Jackson with 41 pts, runner up B Hall with 40 pts, followed by J Sippel with 38 pts. The rundown went to G Henderson & N Casey 37 pts, followed by V Wilson 36 pts, M Sim & B Cunningham 35 pts, K Rhodes & F Brophy 34 pts and G Sorensen & R Fitzgerald with 33 pts. Pin shots were received by A Jackson & L Hooke on 4/13 while V Christensen & J Edwards received 8/17. The Encouragement Award was received by M Maynard.
Ladies
Our first monthly medal stroke round of the year was played on 8th and we had 9 ladies in the competition. Winner was Juleen Sippel with a nett 75 and Anne Brown was runner-up with a nett 76. Congratulations to Juleen who has returned to golf this year. She won a beautiful floral arrangement presented by Michelle from Boonah Florist and we thank our sponsor. The monthly medal is a Boonah Golf Club ball marker and one of these will be presented each month to the medal winner. Jan Baulch had the least number of putts, ie 27 and Alison Leary won both pin shots. The rest of the girls did not score very well however conditions were hot and very windy. Next week we begin playing for the “Consistency Cup” which is a stableford competition, played monthly over the whole year with a special trophy to be presented at the end of the season. Linda Edward’s is our sponsor for the daily trophy.
Sporters
Wednesday the Sporters was sponsored by N Hooke playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6. The winner was R Cuneo with 44 net, runner up K Rhodes with 45 net. The run down went to R Fitzgerald 46 net, B May & W Wieland 47 net, followed by N Hooke, D Forsyth, B Brown & R Stinson 48 net and L Blunt 49 net. Pin shots were received by B Beasley on 13, A Stick received 17 while L Blunt received 18. The best gross for the day was received by R Cuneo with 51 off the stick. The Dugandan Dice sponsored by Dugandan Hotel was received by G Parker. This week will be sponsored by M O’Reilly playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. Next week will be sponsored by Joe Dover playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6.
Friendly Friday
Friendly Fridays had 15 players tee of playing a stableford front 9 competition. The winner was J Handley with 23 pts, runners up V Christensen from M Hassan with 21 pts ocb. The run down went to B May, B Brown & A Leary 19 pts, followed by D Ryan, R Brooks, N Hooke & C Shannon 18 pts. The pin shot was received by J Handley.
Saturday
Saturday was sponsored by N & L Hooke playing a stableford/monthly mug competition. The winner was J Nunan with 44 pts, runner up M Hassan 40 pts. The run down went to K Wilson, R Eacott, T Richardson, P Manitta, J Buganey, J Harris, L Blunt, I Browning & D Forsyth 39 pts, followed by B Freiberg & J Handley 38 pts, A Bennett 37 pts and T Lynch, G Parker & J Shine 36 pts. The Ladies winner was J McAntee with 38 pts, runner up D Wall 35 pts. Pin shots were received by G Balharry & A Brown on 4/13 P Manitta & A Brown received 8/17, while B Gotke received 9/18.
