Veterans: Veterans returned on Monday playing a stableford competition. The winner was T Russell with 37 pts, runner up J Sippel ocb from G Philp with 36 pts. The rundown continued with K Rhodes 34 pts, E Meagher & P Moran with 33 pts, followed by G Sorensen & W Bodetti 32 pts and M Hassan 31 pts. Pin shots were received by D Dann on 8/17 while E Meagher received both 8/17 & 9/18 for the ladies. The Encouragement Award went to K Cook ocb. Monday & next week will be stableford competitions. The Veterans Championships will be played on Monday the 27th July & Monday 3rd August.
Wednesday:
Ladies: The winner of last weeks trophy donated by Robyn Fitzpatrick was Maureen Maynard with 39 stableford points. The runner-up was Vicki Bird on a count back from Nicki Mulligan both having 34 points. Other scores were Anne Brown and Ellen Meagher 33, Jan Baulch 31, Barb Hamilton 30, Jan Edwards and Jo McAntee 27, Kris Cook 24, Linda Hooke and Marg Kuhnemann 23 and Lisa Humphrey 19 pts. The pins on 4/13 and 8/17 were won by Jo McAntee and Anne Brown won the accuracty shot. The winner of the semi-finals matchplay was Di Kuhnemann who now has to play her mother in the finals. Last meeting we proposed next year we organise a match play competition between Beaudesert and Boonah. We could have a team of five and play on two consecutive Sundays and play a game on each course. Next Wednesday is a stableford for Fran Licciardos’ trophy. The following Wednesday is a 4BBB draw for partners and Wednesday 29th is a bogey for Hawks Transport trophy. Linda played her last game with us last Wednesday. We wish her and Neil all the best for their future in Redcliffe and hope they come and visit us now and then. Good Golfing everyone from Birdie.
Sporters: Wednesday the Sporters played a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition sponsored by the Maudsley Brothers. The winner was R Cuneo with 31 pts, runner up B Brown with 27 pts. The rundown went to M Hassan 26 pts and R Humphrey & N Hooke with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by G Parker & M Hassan on 4, T Roebig received 8 while W Maudsley received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was R Cuneo. This week will be sponsored by FIS Insurance Brokers playing a 2 Ball Ambrose 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week will be sponsored by The Butcher Co the playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.
Friendly Friday: Friendly Friday had 11 players, playing a stableford front 9 competition. The winner was S Bailey with 21 pts, runner up K Kirgis with 18 pts. The pin shot was received by S Bailey while M Hassan received by NAGA.
Saturday: Saturday we played a stableford/monthly mug competition, sponsored by the Dover Families, for the Dover Memorial. The winner and Monthly Mug winner was W Bird with 45 pts, runner up B Philp with 42 pts followed by J Lynch with 40 pts. The Ladies winner was J Pfingst with 39 pts, runner up B Dover with 38 pts. The ball run down went to C Shannon 39 pts, G Hunt, K Kirgis, S Bailey & G Parker 37 pts, M Kuhnemann, N Sherrington, R Eacott, C Perrem & R Anderson 36 pts followed by P McNiven, M O’Reilly & M Simmonds 35 pts and K Cook, P Leath, M Gnech, S Francis, C Stumer & T Grimshaw 34 pts. Pin Shots were received by T Sherrington & T Grimshaw on 4/13, E Meagher & G Hunt received 8/17 while C Perrem received 9/18. This week will be the Chappy Cup playing a 4 ball Ambrose competition. Next week will be the K & S Bartholomew Memorial playing a stableford competition The Pro Pin on 4 sponsored by Drummond Golf is currently held by T Grimshaw with 52 cm. The Pro Pin on 17 is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery and currently held by G Hunt with 45 cm. The Accuate Drive was received by M Kuhnemann. A Heit had an Eagle on the 15th. The Mixed Foursomes will be held on 2nd August.
Sunday: Sunday we have a social club teeing off at 7.30 using some of the buggies. Social play will be available. If you can’t get a game on Saturday there will be an 18 hole competition on Sunday. Timesheet available at the club. Please ring the club to make a booking as we have strict regulations of play in leiu of the caronavirus.
