Ladies
Presentation of the yearly trophies was held last Wednesday at our Christmas lunch. We would like to say a big “Thank You” to all our trophy donors and sponsors who have supported the ladies competition during the past year, also a thank you to the staff for their co-operation over the past golfing season. The trophy winners were: Best Gross – Anne Brown 78; Best Net – Alison Leary 63; Medal of Medals – Jan Baulch: Biggest Reduction in Handicap for the year which was 7 strokes went to Alison Leary; Club Match Play which is the Beryl Drady Memorial was won by Jan Baulch and the runner up was Linda Hooke; Golf Queensland Brooch winner was Linda Edwards; International Bowl winner was Anne Brown. The Continuous Eclectic and the Most Chip Ins went to Jan Baulch. Our Summer competition begins now, so arrange to play 9 holes at any time and the weekly completion runs from Wednesday morning through to Tuesday afternoon. Sporters
Wednesday the Sporters played the 2nd round of the Championships, playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 sponsored T Lynch. The winner was G Parker with 40 net, runner up L Blunt 46 net. The run down went to J Browning, W Hall, A Stick, K Wilson, R Stinson, N Hooke & D Forsyth. The Best Gross for the day was received by G Parker with 49 off the stick. Pin shots were received by G Parker on 13, 17 & 18 was received by J Browning. The Dice winner sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was won by W Hall. The A Grade winner was J Browning, B Grade winner G Parker while N Hooke won C Grade. W Gnech sponsors the best gross for the Championships won by J Browning with 97. G Parker won A Hertwecks Xmas Ham. This week will be sponsored by Aratula Hotel playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. Sporters AGM & Christmas break up will be held on conclusion of play. Next week will be sponsored by B Brown playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6. The clubs AGM will be on the 13th December.
Friendly Friday
Friendly Fridays had 22 players tee off, playing a stableford front 9 competition. The winner was J McAntee with 24 pts, runner up S Fahey 23 pts, followed by W Martin 21 pts. The run down went to N Hooke & M Hassan 20 pts, A Thor & R Fitzgerald 19 pts and L Gordon, A Fahey & G Miller 18 pts. The pin shot was received by W Martin. The Encouragement Award was received by M Karlhuber.
Saturday
Saturday was sponsored by G & Z Eviston, J Browning, M Dickson & W Gnech. The A Grade winner was V Christensen ocb from J Browning with 69 net, B Grade winner was A Browning 72 net, runner up W Hall 73 net, C Grade winner was V Riley with 71 net runner up M Simpson 72 net ocb. The Ladies winner was K Turner 74 net, runner up A Brown 75 net ocb. The rundown went to T Alchin 70 net, A Gill 71 net, T Grimshaw & J Nunan 72 net, T Barr & G Lutter 73 net and B May, G Balharry, M Gnech, S O’Connell, S Browning, R Fitzgerald, W Browning & M Surawski 74 net. The Medal of Medals winner was T Alchin. Ntps were received by T Grimshaw & K Turner on 4/13, V Christensen & Z Eviston received 8/17 and J Browning received 9/18. The Pro Pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf and currently held by T Grimshaw, while the Pro Pin on 17 is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery. The Money Pin was received by A Gill. This week will be sponsored J McGrath, J Handley, R Eacott & P King playing a stableford/monthly mug playoff. If you have won a mug during the year you will be automatically in this play off. This is a 12.30 shot gun start so no social play is available Saturday afternoon. Next week will be Closing Day sponsored by F & L Johnson playing a 2 ball Ambrose. There will be club trophies on the 24th & 31st for anyone wanting to play a competition.
