Monday the Veterans played a stableford competition for their Open Day.
Ladies
On a very damp day last Wednesday our visitor from Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club, Stacey Edwards had 35 points on a 6 handicap, which was the winning score and Clair Wieland was present to hand Stacey the prize she donated. Runner up on a countback was Anne Brown with Maureen Maynard also on 32. Other players who braved the wet conditions were Jan Baulch 31, Meryl Tress 29, Jo McAntee and Linda Hooke 28, Linda Edwards 26, Jan Edwards 25 and Marg Kuhnemann 20. Fran Licciardo played 9 holes. Chip -ins were by Marg and Maureen; pin shots won by Meryl, Jo and Anne. In the Beryl Drady match play we have one result so far with Maureen beating Jo. First round matches have to be completed by May 13. Today is monthly medal day sponsored by The Vault so the competition is a stroke round, counting putts and the 2nd round of the WGQ Brooch and 1st round of the International Bowl both of which are yearly competitions. Our club championships start on Saturday 20th and the time sheets are now available. Next week is sponsored by Marg Kuhnemann. Good golfing girls and may all your putts drop in!
Sporters
Wednesday the Sporters was sponsored by J R Plant Hire playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. The winner was M O’Reilly ocb from runner up D Forsyth with 27 pts. The run down went to M Weber & L Blunt 26 pts, N Hooke 25 pts and R Cuneo 24 pts. Pin shots were received by M O’Reilly on 4, while R Cuneo received both 8 & 9. The Dugandan Dice sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was received by D Forsyth. This week will be sponsored by E Newlove & M O’Reilly playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition, count your putts as well. Friendly Friday
Friendly Fridays has 17 players tee off playing a stroke competition for Big Money Day. The winner was A Brown with 31 net, runner up M Weber 33 net followed by A Stick 34 net. The rundown went to K Sawtell & R Wilkie 35 net and S Riley 36 net. The pinshots were received by P King & K Sawtell, while B Brown received the Encouragement Award. The best gross for the day was received by A Brown with 41 off the stick.
Saturday
Satsurday we played a stroke competiton sponsored by J & L Nunan. The winner was S Riley with 66 net, runner up J Buganey 67 net. The run down went to D Ryan, K Wilson & T Weatherhead 69 net, followed by J McGrath & C Wilson 71 net, B Spranklin, C McLean, S Francis & J Gillett 72 net and R Philp, W Jackson, G Lutter & L Blunt 73 net. The ladies winner was L Edwards with 71 net, runner up J Baulch 75 net. Pin shots were received by W Gnech & A Brown on 4/13, I Browning & L Edwards received 8/17 while B Spranklin received 9/18. The Pro Pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf and received by S Edwards with 1.76m. The Pro Pin on 17 is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery and was received by J McGrath with 2.86m. The Money Pin was received by D Mortimer. The Anzac Day Cup was won by W Gnech. New Zealand was successful in the challenge beating Australia 2365 to 2371. Sunday
We have 2 Social Clubs playing this week, teeing off at 7 am. You will be able to play after conclusion of play. Clubhouse will be open till 5 if wanting a game of golf. Ring the club for further details
