Veterans
Monday the Veterans played a stableford competition. The winner with 36 pts was P. Sheffield, runner up was K. Cook with 33 pts. Next best were A. Featherstone & R. Parnell with 32 pts, followed by A. Brown 31 pts & I. Smith 30 pts. Nearest the pins were received by P. Sheffield on 4/13 as well as 8/17 while A. Brown received the ladies. The Encouragement Awards was received by E. Newlove. The memberships draw jackpotted.
Wednesday Sporters
Last week the sporters was sponsored by Fassifern Quality Butchers playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. The winner was A. Stick with 46&1/3, runner up B. May with 47&1/3. The run down went to Stuart Fahey with 48 net and L. Vandenbrink with 48&1/3. The pin shots were received by T. Lynch on 4, B. May on 8 while 9 was received by T. Lynch. The Best Gross was received by G. Sippel with 52. Wednesday will be sponsored A. Hertweck & G. Searle playing a 4 Ball aggregate stroke event on 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6. The following week will be Stan McCullough Memorial Trophy sponsored by Simons’ Tavern playing a Stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15.
Friendly Fridays
We had 9 players on Friday with the winner being M. Crowther with 21 pts, runner up M. McGarrity with 18 pts followed by G. Eviston & B. Jones with 17 pts and A. Stick. Tee off time is now 2.30. Come along and enjoy a round of 9 holes and stay for a meal.
Saturday
Saturday we played a stableford competition for Noel Dover Memorial. The winner with 39 pts was S. Hughes, runner up with 38pts was G. Benstead. The next best was R. Worley on a count back from C. Shannon and V. Riley with 36 pts, followed by T. Domjahn, J. McGrath, B. Hutchinson, A. Stick, M. Christensen, B. May and G. Philp all with 35 pts. Nearest the pins were on all holes and received by G. Sippel 1/10, 2/11 R. Eacott, 3/12 J. Buganey, 4/13 G. Balharry the ladies on 4/13 was received by K. Cook, 5/14 T. Lynch, 6/15 J. Lynch, 7/16 A. Gill, 8/17 was received by T. Domjahn & 9/18 was received by M. Christensen. The pro pin sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery was won by T. Moller with 1.68 metres.
This week will a stableford competition sponsored by GTL Transport and will be the Monthly Mug for August. Next week will be the Darvall Cup sponsored by Richard Darvall. This will be played over Saturday and Sunday with club trophies on each day. Timesheets are out now.
Sunday we played the Mixed Foursomes. The winners were K. Turner & B. Freiberg with 122, runners up were A. Brown & A. Smith with 123. The winners of the best net were K. Turner & B. Freiberg with 110, runner up with 111 were K. Cook & T. Lynch.
Chookies
This week we have a Social Club of 20 teeing off at 7 am. Chookies can tee off before them or as soon as they have all started their back 9. Hopefully around 9.30.
