Veterans
Monday the Veterans played a stableford competition. The winner with 37 pts was J. Potter, runner up B. Jones with 34 pts, followed by D. Beazley & P. Sheffield 33 pts and A. Brown, D. Forsyth, B. Hall & R. Parnell all with 32 pts. The ntp’s were received by G. Sorensen 4/13, D. Forsyth 8/17 while the ladies 8/17 was received by A. Brown. The Encouragement Award went to R. Featherstone and the membership draw jackpotted.
Wednesday Sporters
Wednesday the sporters played a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 sponsored by R. Brooks and M. Crowther. The winner with 45 net was F. Johnson, runner up D. Forsyth 46 net. The run down went to R. Cuneo & R. Scells 46&2/3, T. Lynch 47 net, followed by G. Roberts 47&1/3, B. Brown & L. Vandenbrink 47&2/3, M. Crowther 48 net and E. Newlove and H. Gwynne 49 net. The ntp’s were received by T. Lynch 4, R. Cuneo 8 and T. Lynch on 9. The best gross was also received by T. Lynch. The putting competition was received by R. Scells with 15, runner up R. Cuneo on a count back from B. Brown with 18 putts. Wednesday will be a Shotgun Start at 1 pm, sponsored by the Peak Pub. The following Wednesday will be sponsored by the Boonah Motel, playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. (Wayne Gnech is sponsoring the Best Gross for the Overall Champion). This will be the first round of the Championships. The last competition day is the 19th December.
Friendly Fridays
We had 14 players for the Friendly Fridays. The winner was M. McGarrity with 25 pts, runner up B. Hutchinson 21 pts. Next best were D. Forsyth & M. Leary with 18 pts. The nearest the pin was received by K Reinholdsson. Please come along on a Friday for a fun 9 holes of golf and good friendship.
Saturday
Saturday we played a stableford competition for Boonah Tyrepowers Day. The winner with 43 pts was D. Bond, runner up on a count back was G. Eviston from T. Weatherhead with 42 pts, followed by A. Heit, 41 pts, R. Eacott & B. Hutchinson 40 pts, G. Balharry and J. McGrath 39 pts. The rundown went to T. Moller & P. McNiven also 39 pts, followed by G. Sippel, W. Gnech, M. Dickson, W. Hall, T. Richardson and J. Spotto all with 38 pts, P. King and M. McGarrity 37 pts and N. Toohey, S. Francis, T. Farmers, G. Philp, J. Browning and R. Watkins 36 pts. Nearest the pins were received by W. Maudsley 4/13, J. McGrath on 8/17 while 9/18 was received by A. Heit. The pro pin is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery is currently held by J. McGrath 1/85 metres. This week will be sponsored by J. McGrath, J. Handley & P. King. The prizes on the day are a full rump steak in all grades along with pinshots on all holes. This will be a stroke competition as well as being the Monthly Medal playoff. If you have won a Monthly Medal during the year you are in this part of the competition, so come along and compete on the day. The next Saturday is the Emergency Services Day with plenty of prized on offer. The Overall winner will receive a BBQ while there are prizes in all grades A, B & C grades and ladies.
Chookies
No Chookies this week however this Sunday, the Chookies have free reign of the course, you can come and play at anytime as there isn’t any Social Club. Social players are more than welcome to come at anytime also.
