Ladies
A field of 18 players hit off for Jo McAntee’s sponsored day last Wednesday and the winner under difficult playing conditions was Meryl Tress with 39 points. Di Kuhnemann was next with 35 and other scores were Linda Hooke 34, Kris Cook and Vicki Bird 32, Ellen Meagher 30, Jan Edwards and granddaughter Stacey, a visitor from Coolangatta Tweed both had 29, Marg Kuhnemann 28, Anne Brown 27, a visitor from Mt. Warren Park Lou Hutchinson 27, Maureen Maynard and Linda Edwards 26, Jan Baulch 25, Juleen Sippel 22 so too Jo, Lesley Rhodes also joined in and the NAGA this week went to Robyn Fitzpatrick. This was the 2nd round of the Consistency Cup. Maureen and Linda Hooke both had a “chip in” and pin shots were won by Stacey. Today we are playing for Fran Licciardo’s trophy and it is an 8 o’clock hit off for the last time this season. After Easter we will hit off at 8.30 am. Check the locker room for the draw for the Beryl Drady Match Play and the 1st match is to be completed by 13th May. April 4th is Glen’s Diner day and monthly medal. Wednesday sporters’ was sponsored by R Fitzgerald playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. The winner was B Brown with 26 pts, runner up M O’Reilly ocb from W Gnech & S Edwards with 25 pts. The run down continued with M Fitzpatrick with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by S Edwards on 4, 8 was received by R Cuneo, while 9 was received by M O’Reilly. The dice sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was received by J Handley. This week will be sponsored by D Forsyth playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week will be sponsored by A Gill playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.
Friendly Friday
Friday we had 22 players tee off for a stableford competition. The winner was B King with 24 pts, runner up K Kirgis 23 pts followed by P Cooper with 23 pts. The run down went to W Maudsley 22 pts, M Turnbell 21 pts, K Sawtell 20 pts, M Crowther 19 pts followed by J Lynch & J Handley 18 pts. The pin shot was received by W Maudsley while S Greenwell received the NAGA.
Saturday
Saturdays’ competition was sponsored by Blue Ribbon Motors playing a stableford competition. The Overall winner was L Blunt with 43 pts. The A Grade winner was P King ocb from runner up B Beasley with 39 pts, followed by W Maudsley with 38 pts. B Grade winner was J Handley with 42 pts, runner up P Manitta ocb from P Dadds with 39 pts. C Grade winner was K Kirgis with 41 pts, runner up J Gillett ocb from J Yates with 37 pts. The Ladies winner was E Meagher with 36 pts, runner up K Turner ocb from D Kuhnemann with 35 pts. The ball run down went to D Forsyth 38 pts, G Philp, D Thompson, B May, B Freiberg, J & I Browning with 37 pts, N Toohey, G Kirkman, R Wilkie, W Wieland, W Hall, M Schubring with 36 pts, followed by F Johnson, K Sawtell, G Lutter, N Hooke, T Richardson & A Leary with 35 pts. We also had visitor prizes for the day. The Overall winner was J McInnes with 43 pts, A Grade winner was D Thompson 37 pts, B Grade winner D Pearson 41 pts, C Grade winner N Casey 31 pts and the ladies winner was S Edwards 34 pts. The mens long drive was received by D Thompson while K Turner received the ladies long drive. Pin Shots were received by J Horner & E Meagher on 1/10, B Beasley received 2/11, P Manitta received 3/12, J Worley & D Kuhnemann received 4/13, J Browning received 5/14, S Edwards received 6/15, W Hall received 7/16, 8/17 was received by J Handley & L Edwards while P Noffke received 9/18. We held a 2 person Ambrose competition celebrating our 90 years of Golf in Boonah. The winners were C & B Perrem ocb from runners up were D Ryan & A Leary with 29& 5/8, followed by S O’Connell & M Schubring with 31¾. The run down went to M Hassan & W Martin 32&5/8, B Davey & N Casey 32&7/8, J McAntee & J Yates 33½, B Brown & D Forsyth 34¼, Z Eviston & S Francis 34¾, S & J Edwards 35 and R Brooks & M Crowther 3471/8. Pin shots were received by A Leary & B King on 4 and L Edwards & D Ryan on 8. The Mystery Drives were received by V Bird and S O’Connell. The Boonah Mechanics Chook Run is open to anybody wanting to play 9 holes of golf. This week the Chook Run was won by J Lye with 23 pts, runner up M Simmonds with 20 pts.
