Golf Notes 18/11/19 – 24/11/19

Veterans:   Monday the Veterans had 25 players play a stableford competition. The winner was E Windolf with 42 pts, runner up G Philp with 39 pts The ball run down went to P Dadds 38 pts, G Hunt 36 pts, followed by A Brown, G Chapman & G Henderson 35 pts and A Stick, P Cooper & K Kirgis 34 pts. Pin Shots were received by P Dadds & D Beazley while K Cook & A Brown received the ladies. K Cook received the Encouragement Award while R Stinson won the Members Draw. Tomorrow will be a stablefdord competition followed by the AGM.  Next week the Veterans travel to Tamborine Golf Club for a stableford competition.

Ladies:   Wednesday 27th November is our last day of organised golf for the year and will be a mulligan stableford competition over 18 holes for a club voucher. PLEASE NOTE THAT TEE OFF TIME WILL BE 8.00 am due to the extreme weather conditions we have been having. !.00 pm will be a monthly meeting followed by our AGM. The summer competition begins on December 4th. Competition fee will be $5.00 for the 9 holes and the weekly competition will run from Wednesday morning to Tuesday afternoon. Competition fee to be paid over the bar and a PAID stamped on the card. Cards are to be returned to the Captain’s drawer in the bar area. The captain will write up the weekly scores n the summer competition book which is to be left in the locker room. There must be minimum 3 players each week to constitute a competition. At the end of January balls will be given out in accordance with the number of players each week. Ann Wilson’s re-scheduled clinic is December 8th. This will be short game and putting. Sporters:   Wednesday the sporters had 28 players tee off for the 1st round of the Sporters Championships, playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition, sponsored by Dover & Sons. The winner was H Perrem with 41 net, runner up R Scells ocb from W Hall with 45 net. The ball run down continued with J Browning 47 net, W Gnech & M Gray 48 net, followed by A Stick & T Richardson 49 net. Pin shots were received M O’Reilly on 4, W Gnech received 8 while G Eviston received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was J Gillett. The best gross for the day was received by J Browning with 47 off the stick. This week will be the 2nd round of the Championships also sponsored by Dover & Sons playing a 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week will be sponsored by B Brown playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. This will be followed by the Sporters AGM & Christmas Drinks.

Friendly Fridays:   The Friendly Fridays had 22 players tee off playing a stroke front 9 competition. The winner was A Tomlinson ocb from runner up S Bailey with 34 net, followed by B Lawrance with 35 net ocb. The run down went to M Schubring & K Kirgis 35 net and S Fahey & W Bird 36 net. S Fahey received the pin shot while D May was awarded the NAGA.

Saturday:   Saturday was the Greenkeepers Day playing a stroke competition. The Overall winner was B Cook with 62 net, runner up S Vandervlag 64 net followed by S Etherden 68 net. The ball run down went to B May 69 net, S Kopelke, R Brooks, P Holliday, G Philp & W Hill 70 net, followed by J Browning & O Ribu 71 net and M Vandervlag, C Rose, P Leath & S Francis 72 net. The ladies winner was J Wilson wit 63 net, runner up A Brown ocb with 74 net. Pin shots were received by P Dadds & K Turner on 4/13, J Wallace & M Kuhnemann received 8/17 while W Hill received 9/18. W Maudlsey had an Eagle on the 3rd hole. The pro pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf and currently held by P Dadds with 1.2 m. The pro pin on 17 is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery and currently held by D Wall with 2.77 m. The Accurate Drive was received by S Kopelke. This week will be sponsored by G & Z Eviston, W Gnech, J Browning & M Dickson playing a stableford competition. Next week will sponsored by J Handley, P King, J McGrath & R Eacott playing a single stroke/monthly medal play off competition.

Sunday:   This week  we have 2 social clubs, one teeing off at 7 am, the other at 7.30 am. This will be followed by the Sponsors Day. If you have sponsored a day and would like a round of 9 holes the timesheet is at the club. Ring the club to make a booking or for any further details. Social play should be available after 3 pm.
