Golf Notes 16/3/20 – 22/3/20

Veterans: The Veterans played a 2 Ball Ambrose competition. The winners were G Parker & D Forsyth with 67¾, runners up were R Stinson & N Hooke with 69¼. The run down went to T Russel & G Hunt 70½, L & N Hooke 70¾, K Kirgis & M Crowther and G Sharpe & K Rienholdsson 71½. Pin shots were received by T Russell & D Forsyth while L Hooke received the ladies. The Encouragement Award went to M Gray & R Holland, while the Membership Draw jackpotted. Tomorrow is a stableford competition with 8 am start.  Next week will be a 4BBB stableford competition, teeing off at 8 am.

Ladies:   Last Wednesday we played a bisque bogey for a trophy donated by Jan Edwards and everyone handled the difference of scoring very well. Nicki Mulligan was the winner with a score of +2, Marg Kuhnemann was runner up -1. Other scores were Vicki Bird and Linda Hooke -2, Jan Baulch and Kris Cook -3, Maureen Maynard, Anna Tomlinson and Ellen Meagher -5, Juleen Sippel -8 and Jo McAntee -9. The nearest the pins were won by Jan Baulch on 4/13 and Ellen Meagher on 8/17. Vicki Bird won the accuracy shot. In case some players are confused by the unplayable lie rule. If your ball is declared unplayable by you and is under a tree you can under a penalty of one stroke drop your ball within two club lengths no nearer the hole. If that does not get you out from under the tree you can go back as far as you like keeping that tree between you and the flag, or you can go back to where you played your last shot. Hope this helps. Sporters: Wednesday the Sporters was sponsored by R Fitzgerald playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. The winner was W Wieland ocb from runner up A Lutter with 27 pts. The run down went to L Vandenbrink & G Parker 26 pts, followed by M Gray, R Stinson, D Forsyth & W Maudsley 25 pts. Pin shots were received by W Wieland on 4 J Dover received 8 while A Lutter received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was W Hall. This week will be sponsored by D Forsyth playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week will sponsored by A Gill playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.

Friendly Fridays:   Friendly Fridays had 31 players tee off for a stableford front 9 competition. The winner was K Wilson with 24 pts, runner up C Shannon with 20 pts, followed by B May with 19 pts. The ball run down went to G Grimsey 19 pts and K Kirgis, K Rhodes, J Handley & R Brooks 18 pts. The pin shot was received by P Cooper while E Grimsey received the NAGA.

Saturday:   Saturday was sponsored by P & J Dadds, playing a stableford/monthly mug competition. The A Grade winner & monthly mug winner was P King ocb from runner up P Gerhardt with 38 pts. B Grade winner was R Humphrey also ocb from runner up W Martin with 34 pts. C Grade winner was R Anderson with 32 pts, runner up R Maudsley 31 pts. The Ladies winner was B Else with 34 pts, runner up D Wall with 32 pts followed by A Tomlinson with 31 pts. The ball run down went to R Higgs & T Alchin 36 pts. W Gnech, R Cuneo, J Browning & K Sawtell 35 pts, B Gotke & G Philp 34 pts, followed by I Browning, S Lutter, G Parker, J Gurney & P Dadds 33 pts and A Parker & D Forsyth 32 pts.
