Ladies
Juleen Sippel was the sponsor for last Wednesday’s play which was a stableford competition won by Laraine Gurnett who is a past member of the club and a visitor for the day. She won on the countback from Jenny Briant both had 36 points. Juleen actually had the best score with 37 points and the other scores were Maureen Maynard 34, Jan Baulch, Margaret Kuhnemann and Anne Brown 33, Linda Edwards and Jan Edwards 29. Anne won the pin shot on 4/13 and Jan Edwards on 8/17. Congratulations to Kris Cook on winning the ladies Darvall Cup which was a 2 day event over the week-end. With a nett score of 143 she and Linda Edwards were tied however Kris won the first play-off hole. The Darvall Cup is an honour board event that began in 1935 for the men and the ladies event was added in 2000. Today is a “mystery event” for a club voucher and next week our sponsor is Jan Edwards. Good golfing and may all your putts drop in!
Sporters
Wednesday the Sporters played the Glenn Sippel Memorial playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. The winner was K Kirgis with 44 net, runner up G Lutter with 49 net. The run down went to E Newlove, W Hall & R Brooks 50 net. Pin shots were received by R Maudsley on 4 & 8, while M O’Reilly received 9. The best gross for the day was received by R Cuneo with 58 off the stick. The Dugandan Dice sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was received by R Wilkie. This week will be sponsored by K Rhodes playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6. Next week will be sponsored by M Hassan & W Martin playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15.
Friendly Friday
Friendly Fridays 14 players tee off playing a stroke competition. The winner was C Shannon with 29 net, runner up W Martin ocb from M Crowther & K Reinholdsson with 34 net. The rundown went to P King, 35 net. D May, K Rhodes, M Hassan, C Shannon & P King all received the pin shot while L Rhodes received by NAGA. Next week will be a stroke competition for Big Money Day.
Saturday
Saturday was sponsored by Beaudesert Softdrinks playing a 4BBB stablford competition. The winners were D Mortimer & W Gnech with 48 pts, runners up T Britton & T Weatherhead with 47 pts. The run down went to C Shannon & B May, M Surawski & J Yates, A & B Brown and J Yates & M Simpson with 44 pts, followed by R Eacott & R Cuneo and J Gillett & M O’Reilly 43 pts and J Handley & J McGrath and W Hall & L Blunt 42 pts. Pin shots were received by R Cuneo & A Brown on 4/13, G Philp & D Wall received 8/17 while C Perrem received 9/18. The Pro Pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf and currently held by A Heit with 85cm. The Pro Pin on 17 is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery and currently held by A Brown with 2.65 m. Sunday
We have 2 small social clubs teeing off at 8 and 8.30 am. They will be using all the buggies so if wanting a buggy you will have to wait until they have finished their rounds.
Pennants
The Division 1 Pennants teams played Ipswich at Sandy Gallop and were beaten 5&1/2 to 3&1/2 while Division 2 played Rosewood and won 3&1/2 to 1&1/2.
