Monday the Veterans played a stableford competition. The winner with 39 pts was R Harrison, runner up R Fitzgerald with 68 net. The run down went to V Wilson & W Martin 69 net, P Cooper, R Fitzgerald & R Parnell 37 pts. The run down went to A Brown 32 pts and D Gittens, K Rhodes, M Sim & L Edwards 31 pts. Pin shots were received by R Harrison & A Brown on 4/13 while R Harrison & A Brown received 8/17. The Encouragement Award was received by D Yeates.
Ladies
Wednesday the ladies held their AGM. Maureen Maynard was voted in as President and our new Captain is Linda Edwards. The last competition for the season was won by J McAntee with 37 pts (which included 3 washes) so some good golf played Jo! Runner up was L Hooke with 35 pts, followed by A Leary with 34 pts ocb from A Brown. Anne won both pin shots. Today is a fun day and next week will be our closing luncheon – bring a secret Santa present to the value of $10. There will be the presentation of the year’s special trophies.
Sporters
Wednesday the Sporters was sponsored by R Brooks & M Crowther playing a stroke & putting competition on 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. The winner was R Fitzgerald, runner up B May. The run down went to R Scells, D Webster, V & S Riley, D Forsyth, followed aby R Stinson, N Hooke, A Stick & K Rhodes. The Best Gross for the day was received by B May. The least putts was received by G Searle. Pin shots were received by K Rhodes on 4, 8 was received by S Edwards while J Browning received 9. The Dice winner sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was won by G Searle. This week will be will be the 1st round of the championships sponsored by D Webster playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. Next week will be sponsored by T Lynch as we play the 2nd round of the Championships, playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6. W Gnech sponsord the best gross for the Championships. Sporters AGM & Christmas break up will be held on December 7th.
Friendly Friday
Friendly Fridays had 21 players tee off, playing a stroke front 9 competition. The winner was K Christensen with 31 net ocb from runner up R Brooks, followed by B May ocb with 32 net. The run down continued with followed W Mausdley 32 net, B Brown & K Reinholdsson 33 net, followed by C Shannon, W Martin, J Handley, R Eacott & J McAntee 34 net and M Hassan & R Fitzgerald 36 net. The Encouragement Award was received by V Christensen. This week will be Big Money Day.
Saturday
Saturday was the Boonah Firies Open Day playing a stableford competition. The Overall winner was B Spranklin with 43 pts. The A Grade winner was J McGrath 40 pts, runner up G Parker 38 pts, followed by V Christensen ocb from J Browning 35 pts. B Grade winner was M Spranklin 42 pts, runner up A Hertweck 41 pts ocb from G Philp followed by M Gnech 37 pts ocb. C Grade winner was G Ball 42 pts, runner up P Willett 40 pts, followed by D Ryan 39 pts and V Riley 38 pts. The Ladies winner was L Hooke 38 pts, runner up M Maynard 37 pts ocb from J Baulch 37 pts followed by Z Eviston 34 pts ocb. Ntps were on all holes and received by A Brown on 1/10, 2/11 was reeived by A Hertweck, 3/12 was received by B Spranklin & B Frieberg with an Eagle, R Maudsley & Z EViston received 4/13, B Freiberg received 5/14 while R Brooks received 6/15, G Parker also had an Eagle on this hole, M Gnech received 7/16, GBall & Z Eviston received 8/17 and G Parker received 9/18. The Pro Pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf and currently held by G Balharry with 1.05m, while the Pro Pin on 17 is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery and currently held by D Forsyth with 4.89m.
