Golf Notes 18/7/11 – 24/7/11

Last week AIS Insurance Brokers held their trophy day holding a 2 Ball Ambrose 1-9+16-18 event. The winners for the day were Rob Cuneo and Geoff Parker having 44 and the runners up were Warren Maudsley and Fred Johnson having 44 ¼  following in the rundown were J Handley and J McGrath with 45 ¼, A Squires and D Rhodes with 45 ¼, A Featherstone and L Vandenbrink with 47 ¼, S Bennet and B Gerchow with 47 ½, R Brooks and M Crowther with 47 ¾. NTP on number 4 was received by A Squires, 8/17 was received by R Brooks and 9/18 was received by R Cuneo. This week we play a single Stableford 10-18+7-9 event for Fassifern Quality Butchers and the following week we play a 4 Ball Aggregate stroke 1-9+16-18 event for Arthur Hertweck and Gary Searle’s trophy day.

Last week the Friday Club held a single stroke 10-18 event and the winner for the afternoon was Vernon Wilson having a count back of 33 nett and the runner up Bob Jones with 33 nett also. The rundown consisted of L Brasington with 34 nett and G Henderson and C Greet each finishing up with 35 nett. Tee off time is for 2.30pm. See you all then!

Last Saturday seen the first round of the Darvall Cup, the competition held was a single stroke event. The winner of Saturdays comp was M Grayson having 61 entt and the runner up was B Hutchinson with 65 nett following in the rundown were R Cuneo having 67 nett, G Schmidt, T Farmers and S Francis each having 69 nett, P King and G Philp each had 71 nett, J Handley had 72 nett and B Gotke, W Maudsley and J Buganey each had 73 nett. The ladies winner for the day was L Humphrey having a count back of 73 nett and the runner up was S Reid having 73 nett also. The ladies NTP on 4/13 was received by J Baulch, mens 4/13 was received by M Grayson, 8/17 was received by R Cuneo and 9/18 was received by A Smith. Sundays comp winner was T Britton having 62 nett and the runner up was J Handley having 67 nett following in the rundown were V Riley with 69 nett, J Smith, K Mitchell and M McGarrity each having 70 nett, R Cuneo had 71 nett and M Christensen finished up with 72 nett. The ladies winner for the day was L Edwards with 71 nett and the runner up was G Buganey with 72 nett. The ladies NTP on 4/13 was received by K Cook, mens 4/13 was received by T Britton, 8/17 was received by J McGrath and 9/18 was received by S McKenzie. The overall Mens Darvall Cup winner for 2011 is Michael Grayson having 126 nett and the overall Ladies Darvall Cup winner for 2011 is Gillian Buganey having 146 nett.  The Holden Scramble will be played this Saturday, for those playing it would be greatly appreciated to have forms filled out prior to the event, so please come in when you have your team arranged to fill out your form.
