Golf Notes 24/6/24 – 30/6/24
Veterans:
Monday the Veterans had 72 players play a single stableford competition, for their Scenic Rim Day. The mens winner was R Brown with 38 pts, runner up was D Webb with 37 pts. The ball run down went to J Trovatello & S De Feu 36 pts, P De Beus, J Oates, J Browning, & R Jackson, B Philp & T Roebig, 34 pts, followed by R Stinson & M Gray 33 pts and G Hunt, K Rhodes, T Henderson, B May & R Anslow 32 pts. The ladies winner was K Turner 32 pts, runner up was J Antcliff 31 pts. The ball run down went to D Wall 30 pts, followed by J Tonges, D Rose, G Bartholomew & J Kerrison with 29 pts. Next week will be a single stroke competition, for the 1st round of the Veterans Championships.
Ladies:
Wednesday the Ladies had 10 players play a single stableford competition, sponsored by the Fassifern Pharmacy. The winner was L Edwards with 43 pts, runner up L Reinholdsson with 33 pts ocb. Pin Shots were received by J Baulch & J Edwards. This was week will be a single stroke competition, for a club trophy. Next week will be a stableford competition for the next round of the Consistency Cup.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters had 38 players, play a single stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition, kindly sponsored C Farnan. The winner was C Shannon with 26 pts, runner up was G Evison ocb from S Fahey & R Freeman with 25 pts. The run down continued with R Maudsley & D Forsyth with 24 pts. Pin shots were received M Wyvill on 4, W Lovett received 8, while B Beasley received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was M O’Reilly with 5 Nines. This week will be sponsored by R & W Maudsley from BP Boonah playing a single stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week will be sponsored by FIS Insurance Brokers, playing a 2 ball Ambrose 1-9 + 10, 14 + 15 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday we played a single stroke competition, sponsored by G J Walsh. The overall winner was A Tomlinson with 65 net. The Mens winner was K Milligan with 66 net, with an Eagle on the 16th hole, runner up was P Schwarz ocb from R Bodey with 69 net. The Ladies winner was K Turner with 69 net, runner up was A Shaw with 70 net. The rundown went to M O’Reilly & R Freeman 70 net, A Parker, D Albery & K Sawtell 71 net. Ken had an Eagle on the 3rd hole, followed by S McKenzie, D Green, C Bell, M Herrington & I Pocock 72 net and G Clark, B Philp, B Shaw & R Eacott with 73 net. Pin shots were received by D Bass & K Turner on 4/13, G Clark & J Pfingst received 8/17 while A Moore & S McKenzie received 9/18. This week will be sponsored by D Forsyth, M O’Reilly & W Hill playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition and will be the 5th round of the Claret Jug Challenge. Next week will be the Dover Memorial sponsored by Dover & Sons.
Sunday:
The Ladies played their foursome Championships. The Champions for 2024 are S McKenzie & S Reid with 139 off the stick, runners up were K Turner & D Wall with 140. The net champions were Z Eviston & T Reid Pocock with 111.25, runners up were E Meagher & V Bird with 114. Congratulations to all who played.
Sunday Social Club:
This week we have a social club, using all the buggies. No Social play will be available until they have finished their round.
