Veterans:
These notes are from the 28th June as no Golf Notes was done up that week. A total of 44 players competed in the Scenic Rim district day stableford at Boonah on Monday June 28. The men’s winner was Geoff Parker (39pts) followed by Gary Owen (Canungra) 37 and Les Blunt 36. The ladies’ winner was Chris Van Daalen (Beaudesert) with 38 pts followed by Juleen Sippel 33 and Anne Brown 30. Noel Casey (35pts) and Lesley Wilson (Beaudesert) 29 topped the respective run-downs which went to 30 for men and 26 for ladies. Pin shots were claimed by Paul Palliser (Canungra) 4/13; John Smith (Beaudesert) 8/17 and Warren Maudsley (9/18), who has now joined the Veteran golfer ranks. Beaudesert’s Janice Tonges won the ladies 8/17 pin shot and Chris Van Daalen took 9/18.
Ladies:
Wednesday the Ladies played a single stroke/monthly medal competition, kindly sponsored by Sandi Lee. The winner was H Roebig with 71 net, runner up A Brown ocb from K Cook with 76 net. Pin shots went to K Cook & A Brown. This week will be a stableford competition for Anna’s Hair. This will be the next round for the Consistency Cup. The Ladies will be holding a General Meeting after completion of play.
Sporters:
This week the Sporters was sponsored by M Fitzpatrick playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. The winner was B Lawrance with 30 pts, runner up J Gurney with 28 pts. The ball run down went M Weber 25 pts and B Beasley & W Maudsley with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by J Gillett on 4, J Gurney received 8 while B Lawrance received 9. The Dugandan Dice winner was M O’Reilly. This week will be sponsored by FIS Insurance playing a 2 ball Ambrose 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. Next week will be sponsored by The Butcher Co playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday we played The Dover Memorial playing a stableford competition, sponsored by Dover & Sons. Thanks for your continued support. The winner was B Brown ocb from runner up A Lutter, A Parker & H Perrem with 35 pts. The Ladies winner was S Grace with 33 pts, runner up S McKenie with 32 pts ocb. The ball run down continued with W Gnech 34 pts, M Hassan, L Blunt, R Humphrey, B Davey, G Philp & M Simmonds 33 pts and R Stinson, B Lawrance, N Toohey, N Pellin, S Taylor, D Hyam, R Brown & A Leary 32 pts. Pin Shots went to A Parker on 4/13, S McKenzie & S Lutter received 8/17 while R Burnett received 9/18. This week will be The Chappy Cup. Tmesheet filling fast with only a few spots left in the 12.30 shot gun start. A Few more available in the morning time slots. Ring the club to make a booking.
