Veterans: The Veterans had 62 players tee off for a stableford competition, for their Fassifern Day. The mens winner was B Brown ocb from runner up B Mahony with 37 pts, followed by R Tomlinson with 36 pts. The run down went to G Sharpe & W Cooper 35 pts, G Hunt 34 pts, W Bodetti 33 pts followed by D Johnson, T Russell & G Parker 32 pts, G Sorensen & G Philp 31 pts and J Dowsey, D Dann, G Wellings, B Lapworth, K Gear, M Sim, N Hooke & T Lynch with 30 pts. The ladies winner was K Cook with 36 pts, runner up C Van Daalen ocb from L Hooke with 34 pts. The run down went to E Meagher 33 pts, N Bell 32 pts, followed by N Zagami & J Edwards with 29 pts. Pin shots were received by G Sorensen, G Philp & M Sim while C Van Daalen, J Tonjes & N Bell received the ladies. Tomorrow is a stableford competition. Next week will be a stableford competition.
Ladies: Winner of last weeks game was Barbara Hamilton with 77 net. Runner-up was Ellen Meagher on a count back from N Mulligan & J Baulch. Other players were Anna Tomlinson, Vicki Bird, Jo McAntee and Di Kuhnemann. The pin shots were won by J McAntee and J Baulch won the accuracy shot. One group had a golf hazard in the form of a duck which followed them round the course going on the tees and greens and picking their shoes and buggy wheels. He followed them all around the course till he finally gave up. Suppose he thought four ladies with golf clubs in their hands was too much.
