Golf Notes 11/11/19 – 17/11/19

Veterans:   Monday the Veterans had 26 players play a stableford competition. The winner was M Hassan with 41 pts, runner up A Stick with 39 pts The ball run down went to M Sim 37 pts, R Parnell 36 pts, followed by K Rhodes, R Stinson & D Dann 35 pts and D Beazley 34 pts The ladies winner was L Edwards with 33 pts. Pin Shots were received by A Swift & A McNeil while K Cook received the ladies. Tomorrow is a stableford competition.  Next week will be a stableford competition, followed by the Veterans AGM.

Ladies:   Mid week competition golf is drawing to a close with next week (27th), being our “Fun Day” and the format will be a “mulligan”. This is where 1shot per hole can be replayed and hopefully it will be a better one! Tee off will be brought forward to 8.00 am because of the extreme heat. After play will be the last monthly meeting for 2019 followed by the AGM. Major trophy winners for the 2019 golfing season:- Best Gross (76) Jo McAntee; Best Nett (62) Jenny Briant; Consistency Cup Jo McAntee; Eclectic Jo McAntee; Chip Ins Maureen Maynard. Sunday we had a Go Girls Clinic with ALPG professional Ann Wilson on the short game and this Sunday will also be a clinic and that will be the last for this year. I congratulate all the ladies who have joined in these clinics and who have progressed to having a handicap after joining the club. This program will be started again next year. Sporters:   Wednesday the sporters had 17 players tee off playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition, sponsored by R Brooks & M Crowther. The winner was R Fitzgerald with 48 net, runner up B Sampson ocb from S Edwards & K Rhodes with 49 net. Pin shots were received R Brooks on 13 and B May received 17. The Dugandan Dice winner was W Hall. The best gross for the day was received by W Maudsley with 56 off the stick. D Forsyth won the putting comp with 18 in a close call. This week will be the 1st round of the Sporters Championships, playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition, sponsored by Dover & Sons. Next week will be another stroke for the 2nd round of the Championships also sponsored by Dover & Sons playing a 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.

Friendly Fridays:   The Friendly Fridays had 22 players tee off playing a stroke back 9 competition. The winner was R Brooks with 33 net, runner up S Bailey ocb from B Lawrancr with 34 net. The run down went to D May 35 net and S Edwards 36 net. B May won the pinshot while L Edwards was awarded the NAGA.

Saturday:   Saturday was sponsored by Boonah Tyre Power playing a stableford/monthly mug competition. The winner & monthly mug winner was W Bird with 45 pts, runner up was J Gurney ocb from M Gnech with 42 pts, followed by B May 41 pts, P Leath 40 pts, C Wilson & T Grimshaw 39 pts and J McGrath & N Toohey 38 pts ocb. The ball run down went to R Philp 38 pts, W Gnech, A Parker, K Sawtell, D Forsyth & D Marsh 37 pts followed by A Hertweck, W Hill & G Lutter 36 pts and P Dadds, K Milligan & C Perrem 35 pts. The ladies winner was S Reid ocb from runner up J Pfingst & L Edwards with 37 pts. Pin shots were received by M Tress & P Leath on 4/13, D Wall & W Maudsley received 8/17 while B May received 9/18. The pro pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf and currently held by D Yeomans with 1.5 m. The pro pin on 17 is sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery and currently held by D Wall with 2.77 m. The Accurate Drive was received by K Wilson. The longest drives were received by J McAntee & B May. The NAGA’S were J Baulch & M Yeomans. This week will be the Greenkeepers Day playing a stroke competition. Next week will be sponsored by G & Z Eviston, W Gnech, J Browning & M Dickson playing a stableford competition.

Sunday:   This week we have a social club teeing off at 7 am. This will be followed by the Pennant Finals. Social play should be available after 3 pm. Ring the club to make a booking or for any further details
