Ladies
Marlene Zurvas was our sponsor last Wednesday and she continues to support the lady golfers for which we say “thank you”. Winner was Kris Cook with 34 stableford points and Jan Baulch was runner-up on 32 points on a countback from Anne Brown and Maureen Maynard. Other scores were Vicki Bird 29, Meryl Tress 26, Jo McAntee 25, Linda Hooke 24. Anne won the pin shot on 8/17 and once again this week no one managed to get on the 4/13th green. Wednesday is our final honour board competition for this year – the “medal of medals” play off with Beryl Podlich as the sponsor. Wednesday the Sporters played The District Pub day playing a stableford back 9 competition. The winners were Simons Tavern No 1 team with 115 pts, runners up Dugandan Hotel with 110 pts followed by Mt Alford No 2 team with 109 pts. The Best Indivual Score went to A Moore with 24 pts, runner up was N Hooke with 22 pts ocb. The Encouragement Award went to B Searle. Pin Shots were received by S Fahey on 4, S Bennet received 17 while A Moore received 18. The Dugie dice sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was received by J Miles. Friendly Friday
Friendly Friday had 14 players tee off playing a stroke front 9 competition, for Big Money Day. The winner was R Brooks ocb from runner up B May with 32 net followed by K Reinholdsson 33 net. The ball rundown went to J McAntee 34 net, T Alchin & S Riley 35 net followed by K Kirgis with 36 net. The best gross for the day was B May with 40 off the stick. The pin shots were received by P Cooper, J McAntee & R Brooks while K Rhodes & D May received the NAGA.
Saturday
Saturday was sponsored by Bendigo Bank playing a stableford competition. The A Grade winner was W Gnech with 40 pts, runner up J Browning 38 pts ocb. B Grade winner was R Philp with 41 pts, runner up J Yates with 40 pts. C Grade winner was A Featherstone with 41 pts, runner up B Brown with 38 pts. The Ladies winner was A Brown with 33 pts, runner up D Wall ocb from K Turner with 31 pts. The rundown went to P Gerhardt 38 pts, P King, K Wilson, W Maudsley, I Browning, M Gnech, D Mortimer, D Forsyth, W Bird & D Gittins 37 pts followed by W Harrison, J Gurney, L Blunt & C Wilson 36 pts. This Sunday we have the Goodna Eagles Social Club teeing off at 6.30, as well as the Division 2 Pennants teeing off at 10.30.
