Jo McAntee posted a very good score to win Juleen Sippel’s day last Wednesday. 40 points off a handicap of 8 is very good golf. The ever consistent Jan Baulch was runner-up with 35 points and other players were Jill Pfingst 33, Jenny Briant 32, Linda Hooke 30 and Anne Brown 27. Anne won the pin shot on 4/13 and Jill on 8/17. Wednesday is the Gail Grimsey Memorial trophy presented by her daughter Linda Edwards and Jan Edwards will be our sponsor next week.

Wednesday the Sporters was sponsored by David Woolgar playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition for the Wally Woolgar Trophy. The winner was M Crowther ocb from runner up W Wieland with 25 pts. The ball run down went to R Stinson, J Potter, W Hall & M O’Reilly with 24 pts. D Forsyth won the pin shot on 13, M O’Reilly received 17 while A Skinner received 18. The Dugie dice sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was won by N Hooke. This week will be will the Glenn Sippel Memorial Trophy sponsored by the QFS and DF playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be the Stan McCullough Memorial Trophy sponsored by G Eviston playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition.
Friendly Friday
Friendly Fridays had 22 players tee off for a stroke back 9 competition. The winner was B May with 30 net, runner up E Meagher ocb from R Eacott with 32 net. The ball run down went to M Crowther 33 net, D Forsyth, P Gordon & K Reindholdsson 35 net followed by P King, J Handley, K Rhodes, M Hassan & K Kirgis 36 net. The pin shot was received by R Eacott. Friendly Fridays are now teeing off at 2.45.

Saturday we played the 1st round of the Darvall Cup sponsored by S & L Edwards. The winner was A Featherstone with 64 net, runner up V Riley ocb from J Shine, G Philp and T Alchin. The run down continued with J Handley, B May, B King & J Gillett 71 net, D Forsyth, C Wilson, R Eacott & J Browning 72 net followed by J Yates, N Hooke T Lynch, T Richardson, W Harrison, W Hall & L Edwards 73 net and L Blunt, P King & B Perrem 74 net. The ladies winner was D Wall ocb from runner up Z Eviston with 70 net. The best gross for the men was J Browning with 76 off the stick. The best gross for the ladies was D Wall with 83 off the stick. Pin Shots were received by C Perrem on 4/13, J Baulch & T Lynch received 8/17 while W Harrison received 9/18. The pro pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf and currently held by C Perrem with 1.75m. We played the 2nd round of the Darvall Cup sponsored by Beaudesert Softdrinks. The winner was G Parker with 68 net, runner up M Simmonds 70 net followed by B Beasley 71 net. The ladies winner was Z Eviston with 72 net, runner up J Pfingst 74 net. The ball run down went to J Browning & A Featherstone 72 net, N Hooke & D Forsyth 73 net, A Stick 74 net, G Philp & L Blunt 75 net, D Wall & S Edwards 76 net, followed by J Edwards 77 net and T Lynch & L Edwards 78 net. Pin Shots were received by Z Eviston & J Browning on 4/13, L Edwards & B Beasley received 8/17 while G Parker received 9/18.
