Golf Notes 21/11/2016-27/11/2016

Veterans

Monday the Veterans played a stableford competition for their Fassifern Day with visitors from Beaudesert & Canungra.  The winner was M Burne with 41 pts, runner up D Gittens 40 pts ocb from R Fitzgerald & N Casey.  The run down continued with B Wiedmann 39 pts.  The Ladies winner was P Mitchell ocb from runner up L Edwards with 36 pts.  Pin shots were received by R Parnell & A Brown on 4/13 while A Pritchard & A Brown received 8/17.   

Ladies

Last Wednesday was our fun day which was a Mulligans…. What is a Mulligan?  It means you can replay a shot you are not happy with but only once per hole.  Winner was J McAntee with 45 pts and she did not have to use too many Mulligans.        Runner Up was Alison Leary with 41 pts, then Linda Hooke on 39 pts followed by Maureen Maynard 34 pts, Meryl Tress 34 pts, Linda Edwards 33 pts and Jan Baulch 32 pts.  Ellen Meagher now has her 3 handicap cards posted so we look forward to her joining our competition days. Fran Licciardo & Lesley Rhodes played 9 holes.  Congratulations to Fran who had 2 chip ins.  Pinshots were won by Maureen & Linda Hooke.  Accuracy Drive went to Lesley.  This week is our end of year luncheon with presentations of trophies.  The summer competition will then begin next week.

Sporters

Wednesday the Sporters played the 1st round of their championships sponsored by D Webster playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15.  The winner was A Stick with 40 net ocb from runner up G Parker.  The run down went to K Rhodes 42 net, J Browning &  N Hooke 44 net, B May 45 net, followed by G Eviston & W Wieland 46 net, R Brooks 47 net , J Handley, J Potter, E Newlove & DWebster 48 net and L Blunt & R Stinson 49 net. The Best Gross for the day was received by J Browning with 47 off the stick.  Pin shots were received by G Searle on 4, 8 was received by M Maudley while L Blunt received 9.  The Dice winner sponsored by the Dugandan Hotel was won by E Newlove.   This week will be  will be the sponsored T Lynch as we play the 2nd round of the Championships, playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6. W Gnech sponsors the best gross for the Championships.   Next week will be sponsored by Aratula Hotel playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15.  Sporters AGM & Christmas break up will be held on December 7th.  The clubs AGM will be on the 13th December.

Friendly Friday

Friendly Fridays had 26 players tee off, playing a stroke back 9 competition for Big Money Day.  The winner was L Rhodes with 29 net, runner up B May 30 net followed by D May ocb from G Eviston & J McAntee with 32 net.  The run down continued with G Henderson, P King & R Fitzgerald 33 net, followed by V Riley 34 net, K Rhodes & A Brown 35 net and C Shannon & J Handley 36 net. The Encouragement Award was received by S Riley.  

Saturday

Saturday was sponsored by Boonah Tyrepower playing a stableford/monthy mug competition.  The winner & monthly mug winner was J Nunan 42 pts, runner up K Wilson 40 pts ocb from, B Gotke, followed by J Comp, I Browning & P Dadds 39 pts, S Hughes 38 pts, B May, A Heit, V Christensen, M Hassan, W Gnech, N Hooke & D Forsyth 37 pts and W Hall, C Shannon, K Sawtell & C Madsen 36 pts.  The Ladies winner was Z Eviston 36 pts, runner up J Baulch 35 pts.  Ntps were received by D Ryan (with a hole in 1) & J Baulch on 4/13, G Lutter & J McAntee received 8/17 and W Hall received 9/18 with an Eagle. The Long Drives were received by A Gill & K Turner.  The Pro Pin on 4 is sponsored by Drummond Golf was won by D Ryan, while the Pro Pin on 17 sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery was won by D Forsyth. The Money Pin was received by T Grimshaw.  This week will be sponsored by G & Z Eviston, J Browning, W Gnech & M Dickson playing a stroke/monthly medal play off.  If you have received a monthly medal during the year you are automatically in this playoff.   Next week will be sponsored by J McGrath, J Handley, R Eacott & P King playing a stableford/monthly mug playoff.  If you have won a mug during the year you will be automatically in this play off.  This is a 12.30 shot gun start.

Sunday

We have a small Social Club teeing off at 8am.  You will be able to play around this Social Club.  We then have a booking for 50 people at 12 pm so no social play will be available during this time.  Ring the club for further details.
