Veterans
Monday the Veterans played a stroke competition, this was the second round of the Championships. The winner with 65 net was F. Brophy, runner up L. Hooke 67 net, followed by D. Yeates 68 net. The rundown went A. Stick & A. Featherstone 70 net, J. Potter, D. Gittens & V. Wilson 71 net, followed by V. Riley 72 net and B. Brown, C. Van Daalen, J. Doherty & M. Hassan 73 net. Pin Shots were received by D. Gittens & L. Hooke on 4/13 while K. Rhodes & C. Van Daalen received 8/17. The Encouragement Award went to P. Cooper while the Membership Draw was received by C. Greet. The Championship winner was V. Wilson 141. Vern also won by putting competition with 25 putts.
Sporters
Wednesday sporters played the annual Scenic Rim Pub Day, playing a stableford back 9 competition. The winners were the Aratula Hotel A. team with 115 pts, runners up were Simons Hotel 113 pts, followed by the Mt Alford Hotel with 111 pts. The best individual score was received by J. Arthur 23 pts (Mt Alford), runner up M. Crowther 22 pts (Simons Hotel). Pin Shots were received by R. Brooks on 13, 17 was received by M. Crowther while 18 went to R. Cuneo. Thanks to the Dugandan Hotel for their sponsorship of the Dice, this week won by W. Daylight. This week will be sponsored by Boonah Mitre 10 Hardware playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be sponsored by Prosteam playing a 18 hole stableford competition. Due to the Sporters AGM & Christmas Drinks on the 10/12/14 the Championships will be played on the 26/11/14 & 3/12/14.
Friendly Friday
Friendly Friday’s had 19 people tee off playing a 4BBB stableford back 9 competition. The winners were P. King & J. Govern 26pts, runners up R. Brooks & B. Gill ocb from P. Broughton & P. Leath with 23 pts. The nearest the pin was received by R. Brooks. This week will be a front 9 stroke competiton . Summer times have now kicked in so be there 2.45 for a tee off at 3 pm. Mortimer ocb from runner up J. Handley 66 net. The C. Grade winner was runner up B. Lawrance 62 net, runner up S. O’Connell 68 net. The ladies winner was K. Cook 69 net, runner up J. Baulch 74 net. The rundown went to J. Lyttle 67 net, C. Moncada 68 net, M. Pennisi, M. O’Reilly, P. Leath & A. Featherstone 69 net, followed by N. Hooke & J. Shine 70 net, D. Bond, P. Dadds, T. Richardson, M.
