Veterans
Winner of the Vets’ 18 hole Stableford event on Monday was Mark Hassan with 36 pts. C. Greet was runner-up with 35 ocb from C.Shannon. B.Hall on 34 pts led ball run-down that included T.Lynch, G.Henderson J.Arthur, P.Sheffield 32 pts, R.Parnell, K.Rhodes and M.Tress 31 pts and J.Potter, 30. Pin shots on 4/13 went to C.Shannon and C. Van Daarlen and on 8/17, F. Brophy and C.Van Daarlen. The encouragement award went to L.Rhodes and the Member’s draw jackpots to next week.
Sporters
Wednesday Sporters played a 12-hole Stableford for trophies donated by Dr David Yeates. The winner with 30pts was Wayne Hall, followed by Don Webster, 28. The ball run-down was G.Parker 27, R.Scells 26, D.Forsyth 25, W.Wieland and B.May 24. Pin Shots went to W.Hall (13), B.Davey (17) and S.Fahey (18). The Dugandan Dice was won by J.Handley. This week is BP Boonah’s day with a Stableford on 1-9 plus 10,14,15. The following week will be a 2 Ball Ambrose sponsored by AIS Insurance Brokers.
Friendly Fridays
Fifteen players teed off in a Stableford event 1-9. The winner was Arthur Featherstone with 21 pts followed by Vic Riley 19 (ocb), K.Reinholdsen 19 and M.Hassan 19.S.Fahey took the pin shot on No.8. Next week will be a 4BBB Stableford 10-18 (drawer for partners).
Saturday Competition
Saturday’s 18 hole stroke event was sponsored by J.Gillett, M.O’Reilly and D.Forsyth. It was also another round of the Prosteam Cup. Overall winner and C Grade winner was Tibebe Alchin with a nett 53. A Grade winner was Simon Fahey (72 nett) ocb from Anthony Heit. B Grade winner was R.Eacott, nett 70 with W.Jackson runner-up on 75. C Shannon was the C Grade runner-up with 67 nett. The Ladies’ winner was H.Browning, 65 nett, with K.Turner runner-up on 75 nett.
The ball run-down was: B.Brown 68, T.Weatherhead 69, M.Weber 70, A.Stick 71, T.Lynch,E.Kelly,S.Mudde and M.Surawski (all 72), B.May and T.Grimshaw 73 and J.McGrath and G.Parker 74.
Pin shots were: 4/13 A. Brown and J.McGrath; 8/17 K.Cook and B.May; 9/18 R.Cuneo. The Pro Pin on No.17 is held by B.May 1.860m.
This Saturday will be the Noel Dover Memorial (Dover & Sons sponsor) with a stableford/ Monthly Mug event. There are no social clubs on Sunday so Chookies can tee off anytime. Next week will be a 2 Ball Ambrose (P.Manitta, D.Mortimer, A.Smith & S.Synnott sponsors).
