Wednesday Sporters
Last week the sporters played the Stan McCullough Memorial Trophy sponsored by Simons’ Tavern playing a Stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15. The winner was D. Forsyth with 33 pts, runner up with 32 pts was Stuart Fahey. The run down went to S. Edwards with 29 pts, T. Lynch 28 pts, R. Scells 27 pts, followed by G. Parker, G. Searle, & J. Potter 26 pts, R, Cuneo, R. Maudsley & W. Gnech 25 pts and B. Hutchinson, B. May, A. Featherstone, F. Johnson & J. Handley with 24 pts. G. Searle received the Accurate Drive. Nearest the pins were received by R. Maudsley on 4, G. Sorenson received 8, while 9 was received by Stuart Fahey. Wednesday will be Wally Woolgars Trophy spondored by David Woolgar playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6. Next week will be sponsored by Glen Sippel, playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15.
Friendly Fridays
We had 7 players on Friday with the winner being C. Greet with 32 net, runner up was M. Leary with 35 net, followed by M. McGarrity 38 net, R. Brooks 40 net. Tee off time is now 2.30. Come along and enjoy a round of friendly 9 holes.
Saturday
Saturday we played the 1st day of the Darvall Cup sponsored by Richard Darvall. The winner was D. Yeates with 65 net, runner up P. King & V. Christenson both had 68 net. The rundown went to T. Lynch 70 net, T. Weatherhead & G. Searle with 71 net, followed by S. Smith & J. Handley 72 net and B. Philp with 73 net. The ladies winner was A. Brown with 74 net, runner up K. Turner with 76 net. Pin shots were received by C. Shannon on 4/13, A. Brown received the ladies, 8/17 was received by Stuart Fahey & 9/18 was received by G. Sippel. The pro pin sponsored by Sugarloaf Bakery is currently held by Stuart Fahey with 2.93metres. Peter King had an Eagle on the day.
Sunday was the 2nd day of the Darvall Cup. The winner with 68 net on a count back was T. Moller from runner up S. Edwards. The run down went to G. Philp 69 net, J. Comp 70 net, followed by G. Saunders & S. O’Connell 71 net, J. Smith 72 net and M. Dickson & J. McGrath with 73 net. The ladies winner was A, Brown 72 net, runner up K. Turner with 75 net. The ntp’s were received by B. Hutchinson on 4/13, the ladies A. Brown, 8/17 D. Wall & 9/18 M. Dickson. The Darvall Cup for 2012 was won by Terry Lynch with 145 net, while the ladies was won by Anne Brown also with 145 net.
